This is a Baroque church at the western end of Praça de São Paulo and just a couple minutes walk from Mercado da Ribeira. Like so many churches in Lisbon, it seems it was mostly destroyed during the 1755 Lisbon Earthquake and rebuilt around 1768 by Portuguese architect Francisco Remigio de Abreau.
I liked the simple facade with two bell towers and double niche fitted with statues of St. Paul and St. Peter. Within the church, there is a nave with white marble walls fitted with side chapels. This evangelical church/cathedral was destroyed in the 1955 Lisbon earthquake and rebuilt in 1768.
