It’s with great disappointment that I write this message, I’m writing to bring to your attention a deeply concerning incident of racial discrimination that I experienced yesterday night by one of your bodyguards.
He was a Portuguese bodyguard that for no reasons at all didn’t want to let us in, He physically and verbally assaulted us, we do have a video of the whole situation, we also called the police right away to do a complain.
I believe it is imperative that this matter is addressed promptly and appropriately. Yesterday night, I was subjected to a distressing incident at entrance of Lust in Rio, where I and three of my from were victims of racial discrimination. Despite our efforts to remain composed, We were subjected to derogatory comments and unfair treatment solely based on my race.
This incident has left me and my friend deeply hurt, frustrated, and disappointed, as I believe that discrimination of any kind has no place in our society or within the values of your club.
It is disheartening to encounter such discrimination, especially in an environment that should foster respect, equality, and inclusivity. I am a firm believer in the principles of diversity and equal opportunity, and I strongly feel that incidents like this must be addressed promptly to prevent their recurrence and to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.
I kindly request that you initiate an immediate investigation into this matter to ascertain the details and take appropriate actions to address the issue. It is crucial that all individuals involved in perpetrating this discriminatory behavior are held accountable for their actions. I also request that you provide me with a clear outline of the steps being taken to address the issue and prevent similar incidents in the future.
In addition, I would appreciate any support or guidance you can offer to help me cope with the emotional distress caused by this incident. It is crucial that steps are taken to heal the wounds inflicted by this discriminatory act and to restore my faith in the fairness and inclusiveness of Lust in Rio.
I am hopeful that, as an organization committed to equality and non-discrimination, you will handle this complaint with the utmost seriousness and take appropriate actions to address this issue effectively. I trust that you will keep me informed of the progress made in resolving this matter.
I look forward to a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this unfortunate incident. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and...

As the last place to visit on our bar crawl we were expecting something special, oh how disappointed we were. Upon entering we were given a little card, like the ones you get in coffee shops that you get stamped. No entry fee or anything so we thought great. Anyway, we go to the bar expecting to pay but they ask for the card, they say they stamp the card and then you pay on the way out, a good way to get you to buy more than you think without realising but ok. My friend bought 2 drinks, yes just TWO. He got his card stamped and off we went. Another one of our friends then left as he was tired and the friend that had bought the TWO drinks told him to take the card and pay for the drinks on the way out as he owed him some money. An hour or so later and we go to leave but my friend doesn't have a card so is not allowed out. The lady behind the bar then and only then points out to me the small print on the card that says if this card is lost then €150 must be paid to exit. Firstly I don't think this is even legal. Secondly they don't tell you this when handing out the card OR getting your drinks. Thirdly, you get threatened with assault if you don't pay. Again this is surely illegal. We said we would pay for our drinks, we'd even pay for double what we had but no. Pay 150€ to exit or get beaten up and hospitalised by the security and people that run this place. STAY AWAY!!!
P.s. it's rubbish without the con that just adds...
Read moreWhat nobody says about this club is it’s actually a historical theme park where you travel one hundred year back to the segregation era, with complete immersion ! The staff asked my friend for 5 000€. Here, the price increases proportionally to the darkness of your skin. Weirdly enough, you won't see this rule on their website, yet they thoroughly apply it on a daily basis, as you will see in many other comments. I have two hypothesis on why they do : only a very rich well-traveled non-white person is worth a white middle-class person in their mind they have to say things in a roundabout way so the implied racial discrimination does not come off as too obvious, since it would instantly make them conscious violators of the Portuguese law :
Lei n.º 93/2017, de 23 de Agosto : ARTICLE 3. Indirect discrimination : whenever an apparently neutral criterion or practice places a group of persons at a disadvantage, in comparison with another group of persons, based on racial and ethnic origin, color or nationality. ARTICLE 4. Limiting access to public places or places open to the public to a group of persons based on racial and ethnic origin, color or nationality.
I can't put 0-star, so the 1-star is a formal recognition of all the effort they put daily in attempting to hide normalized racism and illegal practices. I genuinely wonder what would happen if the amazingly high number of people who were victims of discrimination there filed a group lawsuit...
