We had dinner at Dom Zeferino and it was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had. 🐟🍷✨
From the moment we stepped in, the decoration, atmosphere, and cleanliness of the place stood out. It immediately gives you the feeling that you’re in a special seafood restaurant — warm, elegant, and full of character. 🎣🪑🌊
The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the service quality was top-notch. But what truly makes this place exceptional is Zeferino, the owner — and the soul of the restaurant. The word “Dom” means "king," and he truly lives up to that title. 👑
If you’re lucky, he’ll cheers your drink with a smile — and if you’re really lucky, he might even sit with you for a moment and sing a song while you dine. It's not just a meal; it's an experience filled with heart, hospitality, and charm. 🎤🥂❤️
As for the food — every seafood dish we tried was phenomenal. We ordered a lot, and honestly, we just couldn’t stop eating. Everything was cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. 🦐🐙🦞🍽️
Now let’s talk about value: considering the quality, freshness, and quantity of the food, the price felt low. This is the kind of place where you pay for dinner and walk out thinking, “That was worth double what we paid.” 💶👌
If you're visiting the area, I wholeheartedly encourage you to try Dom Zeferino. Whether you're out with friends or planning a romantic dinner, this is absolutely the right place. 💫🍷💑
Everything here — from the atmosphere to the food, the service, and the personality of the owner — makes it truly 5 stars all the...
Read moreIn short: extremely long wait for food that is half burned, while the other half is still raw. Horrible waiting staff that tries to overcharge you. Don't go here!
Longer version: When we came in, the restaurant was pretty filled, which we took for a good sign. The waiter was fast to show us to a table but took his time to take our orders after that. He asked us if we would like to have salad with our meals, to which we agreed. When we were seated, there was already bread at our table. After a short while the waiter also brought meat and olives which we did not order. We told him so and he removed it again but left the bread. Afterwards we had to wait for roughly 45 minutes until the grilled cod arrived. One of them was thoroughly burned from both sides. The other one was only half burned, the other half was still raw. We asked the waiter to cook it again, afterwards it was burned as well. When we paid, we found that the small and very lackluster salad, that the waiter asked us about in the beginning, cost us 4 € per person. Also the bread, which we did not touch, was on our bill. We begrudgingly paid for the salad, since we did kind of "order" it, but did not pay the bread.
All in all the experience was that they were only interested in tricking us to pay more money. For what we paid we could have gotten a very nice meal in Porto. Better not to go...
Read moreAfter walking from Porto alllll the way to Matosinhos, my mother and I were looking for a restaurant that had decent priced meals, a nice ambiance and delicious seafood. After looking over a few places with similar menus, we stumbled upon Dom Zeferino in a little side street. The waiter instantly greeted us and told us about all the specials and was extremely accommodating (the smoke from the sardines being grilled next door was disturbing us and we asked if we could switch tables, which they graciously allowed us to do so even though they were busy). We did not wait too long for our food and even if we did, the flavor and the portion size was sooooo worth the wait. I ordered the arroz de marisco (seafood rice) and it was a good ratio of rice to seafood. My mother ordered grilled calamari with boiled potatoes and veggies- heavenly!! We highly recommend giving this place a try. Service was excellent and it is on the top of my list the next time I find myself...
