Møka Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Matosinhos

Since moving from the US, the one thing I have missed most is a quality cup of coffee. Sure, coffee is plentiful here, but it is all small shots of espresso. Good roasted coffee that is made from fresh beans by someone who knows how to use the machines is rare.

Moka is one of those rare gems. It is run by a lovely woman who is always there with a smile and is happy to help you. She knows how to make a proper coffee.... just like I might get in the Pacific Northwest... and she sells beans from a small roaster that are the best I have found since moving here 2 years ago.

I am so happy that is it right next door to where I live, but even if it wasn't, I would go across town to go there. ...

We were a group of 3 people so you will get the experience of everyone. For me the V60 was like a very harsh abs workout. My gag reflex went nuts. So i had to be very present, active and strong not to cry. They have no bathroom. Big problem. My expectations were really high, BUT this was the worst coffee. My V60 was the worst coffe I have ever had because: the temperature of water was almost boiling, the pour recipe was purely made, the agitation of the coffee bed was too harsh and YOU DO NOT USE, EVER EVER, dark roast coffee on V60. And cartoon cups for V60. My flat white was very, very good!! Really...

A delightful small coffee shop! I enjoyed a rich coffee Pingo and a delicious cake. The friendly service from Angela, free WiFi, and standing desks provided a refreshing break from sitting at my desk all day. Perfect for my 2PM walk and getting some work done while staying active.
