O Cantinho Senhor do Padrão — Restaurant in Matosinhos

We arrived and there was no place for us but the waiter welcomed us and was so friendly and put us at a table with some lovely mtv music( we love brittany and justin timberlake) and then he took us to the most beautiful table after we had some amazing wine and appetizers ( the pate was amazing) the fried sardines were the best I ever had, sometimes I still dream about it. Then for the maincourse our waiter (whose name we didnt ask but we love you) he helped us so good. Even in this FISH restaurant he fixed a specially made veggie plate and was so friendly about it. We had the skewers of squid and the big octopus leg. it. was. amazing!!! So fresh So good So authentic!!! 1000% recommend! We will never forget you! love you...

We were looking for sea food in Matosinhos and found this place. We were served by Henrique, who was very friendly and not trying to make money on tourists. He suggested us to get a smaller fish because it would be too much food. Sardines were the best we have had in Portugal ( and in general ). House wine - again - the best we’ve had during the trip, don’t miss it.

You want more? WE CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY. We wanted to have a crab the previous day but they ran out of it by the evening. He promised he would save one for us if we wanted to come back. And the crab was very big and tasty.

On top on that, the place itself is very clean and cozy!

I wish I could go there more. Next time in Porto - coming...

At first I wasn’t planning to go there, but the restaurant it self is really cosy like it invites you to come in. The staff was very helpful and serving. Finally the food was flawless, the pate was the best I’ve tasted and the olives too. For the main course, it was the mixed grill of fish and oh my goodness by far the best in Porto. The prices are good for the quality and the service. I usually don’t type comments this long but I had to cause it left me speechless. I can’t recommend...
