After a morning of walking and taking in the sites , we wander down a little street towards the cathedral and fancied a drink.
We spotted this little place with terrace and decided to pop in for some soft drinks and a nice refreshing non alcoholic beer.
Having a look over the menu, some nibble caught our eye. Served more tapas style here the portions are small but equally mighty in flavour, we enjoyed a not local dish but local to the owner/manager of the slow cooked pork on brioche and it was really lovely, the cod fritter were a delight, but I feel a nice little aioli would have really lifted them. We ordered the chorizo, and although it was very tasty, we expected a little more. This portion size was on the small side.
All in all a nice wee stop and we were around 36€ for 3 tapas and olives, two waters, a cola and non alcoholic beer, a tiny wee bit on the more speny side but not massively and in great location to the cathedral
Staff were really lovely...
Read moreYou NEED to eat here if you are visiting: our choice was either this or Mcdonalds, im so grateful we chose this. The food is great, i took the eggs and fries, the egg was cooked perfectly and the sausages were so tasty! The sweets are definitly the best part tho, the chocolate cake is perfect un every way. The fries were a little too soft, but it doesnt really matter. The staff is really nice and caring. The location is wonderful, even if its small. Overall great experience, would go here again. PS: i have read in the reviews the girl waiter is called Danny, she was so nice, she even specified to me that the tabasco in the eggs isnt the tabasco i was thinking of (because i ordered it withouth the tabasco) and made me change my mind, when i tried the mayonnaise-tabasco sauce it was the best sauce i have had in a long time. She is...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Bia Lounge after a long day of walking and exploration in Porto, looking for something tasty and fun. We found everything we were looking for and more. Bia is a cozy and relaxed place featuring delicious and innovative tapas. Led by co-owner Andre, he and his team have created a diverse menu featuring sharable small plates ranging from a Portuguese interpretation of a Ruben sandwich, to the most incredible toro crudo I have ever tasted. We ended up trying the entire menu, and everything was a winner. The service was friendly and welcoming, with Andre recommending outstanding and affordable local wines, as well as some fun cocktails made with white port. Porto has no shortage of excellent places to eat, but Bia was the consensus favorite, both in terms of the outstanding cuisine as well as the fun and...
