Curioso Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Porto

Cocktails were average. After explicitly creating to charge us in EUR, they still charged in USD (with a 4% markup). When I pointed it out, the server refused to accept his mistake and lied about how the transaction works. Stay away!

Your response wrongfully states that I was happy with the staff and asked them for restaurant suggestions-this is a lie and nowhere in my review have I mentioned that.

And your statement that all foreign cards are accessed a conversion fee is untrue again. Every restaurant/bar that I have been to in life so far has a card terminal which gives an option whether to accept conversion or reject it. If this is not something your establishment supports, it should be flagged to their customers right away!

Lastly the staff stated (wrongfully again) that they would charge my account in euros as requested, and the charge slip in USD amount is just an indication but not the actual charge. I later found that to be untrue. Believing him I even encircled the euro amount since I was in a rush, attaching a picture to prove my point.

I am not worried by the extra dollar or two you made of me, it's how things unfolded and how I was misled...

The drink menu is truly one of a kind, and the entire staff is dedicated to curating a unique and memorable experience around extraordinary cocktails and thoughtful hospitality. Every team member we encountered was kind, attentive, and truly committed to making our evening special.

Though we had to leave quickly for a dinner reservation, our server accommodated us with grace and efficiency, expressing how much they would have loved for us to spend the evening there. It was, without question, the best cocktail bar experience we had in Porto, and as someone who travels often, I’d say it’s one of the best in the world.

If you go, make sure to try the mystery cocktail! We were absolutely delighted with it, and our server took the time to check in and ensure everyone loved it.

Curiouso is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Wish I could rate higher...

VERY long wait time for drinks despite there being hardly any people there. The waiter offered to bring nuts to the table while we wait & I asked for olives too… he only brought the olives, no nuts. Smallest cheese board ever, it should be indicated on the menu that it’s only for one person. It was yummy though but I wished it was bigger. I ordered a Margaret (their own creation, similar to a margarita but with celery, cucumber & brown sugar instead of salt) the waiter misheard me & brought me a margarita, a drink I don’t like and didn’t enjoy. The negronis are very strong but lacked flavour… I never got to try the Margaret sadly… I ordered it & made sure the waiter knew what I said this time… waited ages and was asked to pick a different drink because they ran out of the ingredients. The waiter was very friendly and flirtatious. It’s a nice low-key spot… I recommend wearing something nice, it has a classy vibe. The tables are well located so you’re not on top of others. I will go back here to try the other cocktails… hopefully I can update my review...
