Traça must be one of the biggest disappointments we ever experienced as a proposed restaurant. In every way. We were a company of six people visiting porto and we have heard many great things about Traça. We have booked our table well in advance and we even selected the least busiest time slot (19.30 which is the time the restaurant opens). The restaurant seems quite small but is decorated in a nice traditional way and located in the heart of the city at the beginning of a very busy and lively Street. It's quite bright and spans across two small levels. The problems started from first minute when we struggled a lot to communicate given that out waitress didn't speak any English. The fact that the catalogue was in English was a life saver. Am example of the miscommunication was when we asked for a bottle of water for all 6 of us and she brought us 6 big bottles of water... The catalogue indulges you for a great meal ahead. We made sure we get almost everything that sounded nice (from the description) and we agreed to be a sharing table with all mains in the middle so that we can all taste from all the plates. Starters were quite disappointing (apart from one) and we were starting to get puzzled as to what is the whole hype with this restaurant. I have to mention that starters arrived 30 minutes after we ordered. We finished the starters quite fast and then we were waiting for the mains. It took the restaurant more than an hour to bring the main courses and moreover they even forgot a main! Completely forgotten despite the fact that it was written in the order. The Octopus came cold, veal cooked rare rather than medium but the worst dish of all was the cod.. Completely tasteless and (as you can see in the photo) the potato mash decorated with burned slices of garlic. Not to mention that it was served in a pool of oil. We barely ate most of the dishes didn't go for any desert and we asked for the bill. The cherry on the top of the cake of our experience was the terrible smell coming from the basement (where the toilet was located). When we asked (among other tables) what was that, the maitre told us that it's an old building and sometimes they have issues with the plumbing. Simply unbelievable! Visit Traça at your own risk. It's a premium priced restaurant with low quality cooking.

Traca restaurant is a gem that promises an exceptional dining experience. The service provided is nothing short of extraordinary, ensuring you feel like a cherished guest throughout your visit. We opted for the outdoor seating, which allowed us to revel in the stunning city views while relishing our meal. Traca is inviting, combining contemporary aesthetics with warm accents. The outdoor dining area provided a charming setting, enhancing the overall experience and creating a memorable atmosphere. Traca's cuisine is a true delight. Each dish is meticulously prepared, showcasing the chef's creativity and expertise. The menu offers a diverse range of options to cater to various tastes. We settled on the succulent baked cod, every bite is a culinary adventure. It was paired perfectly with wines from the local region. A special mention goes to the irresistible croquettes at Traca. These crispy and flavorful bite-sized delights were a true standout. The creamy filling and perfectly seasoned crust made for an irresistible combination. These croquettes were the epitome of culinary indulgence and a must-try for any visitor. In conclusion, Traca restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience. With its exceptional service, delectable cuisine, and captivating city views, it is a culinary destination that should not be missed. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, Traca will exceed your expectations and leave you with lasting memories. Don't forget to indulge in their delectable croquettes—they are a true treat for the taste buds.

On our Portugal trip in September 2023, we decided to stop by this restaurant to have dinner. We are a party of 8 so we were fortunate enough that they accommodated us since I believe reservations are required ahead of time because it's a busy restaurant. Anyhow, we were so pleased with the food that after leaving all we can think about for days, weeks and months is how amazing the steak was! We ordered the steak for two which came with fries and salad. The presentation was beautiful and to our surprise, it was the best steak we have ever eaten in years! It's going to be very hard to find something that would compare to how good this steak tasted. We all agreed it was cooked perfectly, it was seasoned perfectly and it tasted phenomenal! We saw an interesting salad that others in the restaurant ordered so decided to give it a try as well. Another hit! The salad was sooooo good too! So sorry, I don't remember the name but hopefully by the photos the restaurant staff will know what the items are. If we ever come back to Porto, we will definitely visit this restaurant again. 10/10 for us!

Had my first experience here today after a long flight and being tired, me and a buddy of mine were just exhausted and needed a drink to relax. So we ordered 2 aperol spritz and a coffee just to get the feeling of vacation going. The drinks came and the waiter slams the bread on the table with the nastiest look I’ve ever seen. After that the drinks came and they picked the menu up and i thought that was about it. There are some unknown reasons for this behaviour like a bad day or something like that. But minutes later he came back and just asked with the same disgusted look “what do you want to eat?”. We thankfully declined and said that we’re just fine with the drinks. His look changed into someone who’s gonna throw up in a second and said “you need to order. WE. ARE. A. RESTAURANT.” I was taken aback, because whether you’re a restaurant or not you can’t talk to your customers like that. I also work in this field and usually restaurants give tables for a period of time if you don’t want to eat something for example for an hour so other guests can eat. But they tell you that in a nice and civil way. That’s not the case here. After that he just said “okay now it’s fine, but next time it will be otherwise.” I’m in disbelief. Did the waiter just threatened us? We quickly paid and as you all guessed right, we were charged for the bread. In total we paid 22€ for 2 drinks, a coffee and untouched bread. I won’t come back to this “restaurant”. And a lot of people will have the same mentality if the other waiters are exactly like the guy we had. After such an experience you just think that the whole vacation will be bad, so thank...
