We couldn't stay away from this place. If you want to eat healthy, with substance over sustenance, make it a point to come here. From the moment we stepped in and were warmly greeted by Allen, a guy from Mozambique with a great knowledge of healthy food and customer service, we knew we were in the right place. The healthy and delicious food was a great break from the local dishes, which often is too starchy, carb-loaded, "tan colored," and lacking in living nutrients. This is not to say that the Portuguese Porto cuisine is to be avoided, in fact, indulge! But after a late night heavy meal, eating something like Nola's fare is a great pick-me-up that'll add more guiltless zest to your vacation fun. Speaking of pick me up, ask for a Superhero Shot as an expresso alternative. During a walking tour coffee break, while our fellow tourers lined up next door for coffee, we darted into Nola's for a couple of small glass flasks of the ginger, bee pollen, turmeric and pineapple (+other zingers) reduction. Soon, others on the tour followed suit. The food is fully satisfying and you won't crash a few hours later. We had the Green bowl with extra protein, and the eggplant and tomato special. Returned the next day for the beet burger and salmon dishes. Great taste and presentation, capped off with the vinho verde sparkling wine. Nice desserts, like the Snickers bar ball... Tastes decadent, sounds decadent, but it's actually good for you. Go in with a good attitude towards others and yourself, come out feeling better than you came in. The staff was so fun and enthusiastic about their work that I almost got a job there (motivated mostly by the food). Try it,...
Read moreToday I had not very nice experience here. After entering the place I’ve ordered matcha latte (the manager Julia was in charge) and had a sit at the table. After I’ve got the menu and while ordering the chocolate cake I’ve mentioned (to Julia again) about the matcha I’ve ordered before. She said it’s already in process of preparation. I’ve got it, tasted and felt the oat milk which I haven’t asked for (I didn’t mentioned the type of milk when ordering and Julia didn’t tell me that the basic is the oat one). I apologized and asked for a normal milk matcha and even didn’t know why the oat milk is there. Turns out there is a specific matcha latte recipe with vanilla syrup and oat milk as a basic at Nola Kitchen and if you didn’t see the menu (as me) you take the responsibility of accepting and paying for this special recipe as a basic one. As a result I’ve payed for two special matchas and frankly wasn’t satisfied neither first one which I’ve just tried, nor second (again because of the recipe). But I should tell that the chocolate cake was very tasty and I’ve enjoyed it all!
After asking for a talk with someone in higher charge, Julia told me there is no one and when I’ve mentioned the owner lady I saw a few minutes ago she explained me that this lady is busy right now and cannot talk with me.
Guys, I loved this place and your food, but this customer service should be changed! People shouldn’t know about your special recipes and you are there to tell it and make it feel desired. Unfortunately, not sure if would come next times. I do ask you to take some actions and meet your own stated...
Read moreMy favourite restaurant in Porto - by far. It's been my go-to for years now. Either for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It just never disappoints and this review is long overdue. Such a lovely place, with great staff, nice decoration, amazing food and great values.
All dishes are perfectly balanced so you'll get all the nutrients and energy from them. I've also been getting my morning coffee or matcha latte and an energy ball here when I occasionally go to Porto for work. For breakfast, I recommend their pancakes!
For lunch/dinner, I usually get the signature chicken or salmon bowl, the halloumi cheese (so good), and the chocolate cake is my favourite dessert!! And the immunity booster juice for a drink. Water is free!
Love the concept of a seasonal menu. It's quite on the expensive side for some but trust me, you're paying for high-quality food and service - alternatively, you can get some nice deals on Uber Eats. Great for take-out as well. I've been ordering using Uber Eats and love how their packaging is eco and reusable! If you decide to dine in, I'd recommend getting a reservation although I went a few times without one but you never know!
They also have a little market - Nola Market, where you can purchase ingredients and snacks, such as the "nola-tella" which is amazing.
Already went with family, friends, and partner here. I recommend this place to everyone I know. Got foreigner coworkers and friends visiting and all. This is more a personal letter of appreciation than a review. You guys rock.
I'd give 50000...
