Porta Oito Petiscos & Bar — Restaurant in Porto

This was honestly my favorite meal from my week in Portugal! The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was lovely. I would go out of my way to come here again!

I tried two dishes. The Portuguese tomato rice was yummy. The pork with chestnut and carrot purée was sophisticated (the best way I can think to describe it)…the way the flavors came together was unexpected and perfectly balanced. I would’ve gladly paid three times the price for it at a fancy restaurant.

The service was helpful, efficient, and friendly. They gave me great advice on what to order and let me try a couple ports, explaining the differences. And they gave me free dessert!

I came across this place by accident — I usually thoroughly research reviews, but this one didn’t even come up for me on Google Maps, maybe because it only opened a couple months ago. But what a happy accident!...

I'm always a little skeptical of restaurants with 5 stars, but fewer than 100 reviews - this place, however, deserves every single one of those five stars. If you, like us, are looking all around this area for a place to eat and are crippled by the amount of choice - do yourself a favor, stop looking and go here right now. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is wonderful, and as many others have said the cocktails are amazing (try the pineapple and coconut sangria!). This all without even mentioning the food, which is incredible in its own right. We loved every dish they served us, I could not recommend this place...

While the staff were very friendly the chef was extremely rude. We placed our order and they forgot our drinks. Only once they had brought out our food they said they could not accommodate an adjustment for an allergy. We inqured further to which they said they could have easily accommodated it but the chef did not want to becuse he like the recipe better with the allergen so would not cook one person's dinner. Even the staff were shocked by this. They had to sit without and as the food was already served we could not leave to go else where.
