I've been living in Porto for quite some time before traveling as a "tourist".||||Well, I had the chance to try several places before this one, and I got really surprised about several facts, I'll review them one by one.||||Position||||Well, you really can't beat this one here: right in front of Douro River, with several restaurants, bars and a supermarket nearby. You can take several buses here, including night buses, and a bike rental 30 meters from the location.||||Room||||Big room, fully furnished, super clean and with all comforts, fast internet connection, and even a coffee machine!||Clean linens, towels, and air conditioning. What could you ask more?||||Service||||I arrived during the night at the hotel and I simply entered the place with a code and a card was already waiting for me to enter the room, without annoying bureaucracy||||Fun fact: this is my first day here, and I already love it: what are you waiting for? Read morePerfect location for all that you wish to see in Porto!|On the Douro facing Vila Nova de Gaia; just a few steps away from Igreja de Sao Francisco, with many other destinations within walking distance. No.1 Tram more or less on your door step taking you to Foz do Douro, if you wanted some beach time; the No.500 bus is also across the road, going a little further to Matsohinnos.|Apartments are clean and well resourced with the option to do basic self catering if preferred. Nice little welcome package - this was very much appreciated.|Bed very comfortable; air-con a blessing; shower lovely, always with plenty of hot water.|Breakfast delivered in a basket: plain yoghurt, roll and jam, sweet cake, OJ, & coffee, suited us perfectly - maybe not for all, but as mentioned you have the option to add and prepare your own.|Plenty of places within walking distance to go out and eat at reasonable prices.|Absolutely loved Porto; would definitely visit again, and would look to...

However…….check in is literally at 3pm as there is no one there to greet you. Secondly the rooms aren’t sound proof so I woke each and every night to the sound of people walking around in the other rooms, several times!! Lastly a point on location! If you intend to spend lots of time along the river or even across the river then this is 5/5. If you wish to roam the streets of the city then be mindful that the hills are like mountains to climb! On a couple of occasions we ordered an Uber for a couple of euros and then walked back, that’d be my top tip! |Oh, almost forgot! There is a tram that literally runs past the front door so make sure you look left and right when exiting...
