Feedback for Ramen Bamboo:
Ramen Bamboo stands out on our list of recommended places in Porto for several reasons: The combination of affordable prices and high-quality dishes makes it a standout choice. We appreciate their environmentally conscious approach, using easily cleaned and reusable steel sticks. The restaurant's ambiance is perfect for various occasions, whether it's a romantic date or a small team gathering of up to 16 people. Its location near our hop-and-stop cruise tour stop was convenient for a delightful lunch experience. The attentive service, along with commendable vegetarian options, further enhances the overall dining experience.
However, there are a few points to consider: Introducing ramen options with seafood could be a valuable addition to the menu. Personally, I enjoy ramen with marinated eggs, and it would be wonderful if this could be offered in the future. While the cash-only payment requirement may pose a slight inconvenience for those without a Portugal credit card, the nearby ATM and the proactive notification help mitigate any issues.
Overall, Ramen Bamboo offers a satisfying dining experience, and these considerations aim to enhance its already...
Read moreIf you are from a city in the U.S. and you've had good ramen, or even decent ramen, you should avoid this place.
The broth was watery and they dump a ton of chili oil in it, presumably to give it some flavor. They ask you to pick a spice level out of five, but it's totally arbitrary. I ordered a one, my wife ordered a three. Both were around the same level- that level being almost inedibly spicy.
The noodles are not good and are more like spaghetti, the protein was mediocre at best. The beef was dry and flavorless and the pork (my wife had) was fine, but there were only a couple small pieces.
The server never touched our table after we had our food. She asked how we enjoyed our food once I flagged her down for the check. I told her that it actually wasn't good and was too spicy. She replied, "oh, it's Chinese spicy." Ramen is not Chinese lol. My wife, on the other hand, is.
I don't know what all these positive reviews are about, but I assume they are coming from people with no context for good ramen. Or really any ramen. I'd prefer cup-o-noodles, honestly.
If you're wondering, it wasn't inexpensive and there was never talk of any recourse. That's fine, but I need you to know...
Read moreThe vegan ramen was nice, but not amazing. The staff was nice and polite, but the service was absolutely terrible and way too slow, it took us 2 hours and half to have dinner. We made a reservation for 2 people for 21:15, they were promising us a table soon again and again, but we had to wait more than half an hour. Then they sited us on a big table, took our order, gave us one drink, and after a while asked us to change tables for a smaller one so they can sit other group. One of the drinks was forgotten. The starters took a lot of time to arrive. Two times we were offered meat ramens from other tables (we asked for vegan). Our food only arrived around 23:00… The payment was also very confusing because our receipt had wrong items and they explained the software did not had the items we ordered yet, so they had to replace with others. They also said they made a discount because of the bad service, but the prices in the receipt were normal and the drinks were overpriced, so I did not see any discount. It was the first night, although that is not an excuse for this terrible service, maybe we will try again if the service improves because the ramen was not bad and because there are...
