Stepping into Reitoria, one can't help but be enchanted by its chic, contemporary interior that perfectly balances style and comfort. The dim, cozy lighting bouncing off dark wood accents casts a luxurious, inviting aura devoid of pretentiousness. As we were ushered to our table promptly and handed over the recently revamped menus, anticipation danced in our hearts. The concise menu, a treasure trove of meat delights with a dash of vegetarian offerings, had us in rapt attention. Our culinary journey started with Fried Camembert in a sweet, tangy Cranberry Sauce and Crispy Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp drizzled with Garlic Aioli. Each bite of the camembert, crisp on the outside, oozing warm, creamy goodness within, harmonized wonderfully with the sharp cranberry. The shrimp, flawlessly cooked, were swathed in smoky bacon, their crunchiness only accentuated by the creamy garlic aioli. The gastronomic crescendo peaked with our mainsâthe juicy 10oz Ribeye Steak and the House Special Chicken Breast stuffed with Goat Cheese and Spinach. The steak, cooked to medium-rare perfection, burst with flavors, while my tender and juicy chicken breast was beautifully offset by goat cheese's creaminess and spinach's subtle sweetness. A special mention must be made of the heavenly roasted potatoes accompanying our mainsâthe epitome of a perfect side dish! The final bill was an agreeable surprise, a testament to the incredible value Reitoria offers for such high-quality cuisine. So, for an unparalleled steak feast in a setting that marries chic and comfortable with aplomb, make Reitoria your destination.    Read moreThis place was recommended to us by a non-Portuguese, so we decided to give it a try. We sampled the ribeye steak, truffle mashed potatoes, ratatouille, port wine, and dessert. I should note that you really need to book this restaurant in advance because by evening it's fully booked.
Interestingly, despite this being a steakhouse, we liked the steak much less than the mashed potatoes, ratatouille, and dessert. We ordered the steak medium-rare, but it came out well-done. The edges were so dry and tough that they were almost like shoe leather, with only a small part in the center being juicy and flavorful. The truffle mashed potatoes were simply divine, melting in your mouth with just the right amount of truffle to enhance the flavor. The ratatouille was also juicy and complex, perfectly balanced without being over-salted or over-peppered. We nearly fought over the dessert â the desserts here are clearly excellent and worth ordering when you visit.
What I didnât like, however, was the service. First, it wasnât clear who our waiter was. Second, you couldnât get a glass of water or sit at an unreserved table. The waiter who came to tell us about all these restrictions initially refused to take our order, but after 10 minutes, he returned and finally took it. On top of that, the tables are placed very close to each other, and smoking isnât just allowed, but due to the close proximity of the tables, people will be smoking right in your face. All of this left a very unpleasant impression. Overall, this place left me with mixed feelings. I might return for some of the dishes, but if you want to have a comfortable time in a pleasant atmosphere, you might want to choose...
Read moreThe prices are outrageous for the amount and quality of food. We asked the waiter to recommend a good dry red wine and he looked through the listings and found us the most expensive wine they had. It was a laughable moment. We had a group of 7 we ordered the hamburger it was greasy and all the greasy transfers to the bread. It was not very good. They serve the burger with a bag of homemade chips. Not attractive at all. I ordered the Iberian pork, it was so salty that my friend who has an allergy to iodine had an allergic reaction to the pork (probably due to the iodine in the salt). That only happens to her with shellfish. I could not finish eating because I felt my mouth was irritated from the salt. Another person in my group had the roast beef sandwich, she liked it very much. We ordered Padrón peppers as an appetizer and they were also very salty. I ordered a caeser salad as a side alas and it was tiny. I wish I had taken a picture. It could he estes in three bites. I do not recommend this restaurant at all unless maybe you want to eat an expensive sandwich. The quality of food was not that of a good restaurant for dinner but maybe a small cafe for a quick expensive small bite...
