6 stars for the amazing service by María and Alexandra! They did an incredible job taking care of us tonight despite having to work an understaffed restaurant. They were nice, professional, kind, and quick to help us with a bunch of questions about the menu and the dishes. We really appreciate their hard work to make us feel well taken care of.
The food? Tasty, but the menu needs work. There are some inaccurate markings for vegetarian options. Note to the ownership: oysters and oyster sauce are NOT vegetarian. Vegetarian means no fish or shellfish or any kind, including sauces. There is one vegan option on the menu, however multiple of the vegetarian-marked dishes are potentially not vegetarian. If this affects you, ask questions.
We enjoyed the sweet/spicy tofu a lot. It’s the only real vegan option. My omnivore friend and I tried the spicy pork and KFC and both were good. The hae mul pae jun (seafood pancake) was just okay. I’m excited to come back and try the sundubu and tteokbokgi.
I LOVE Korean food and as a local resident am so excited to have some decent Korean options in Porto. I hope management can fix the menu markings to be accurate and hopefully hire another person or two. Both times I’ve eaten here it has been...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. A few months ago, I had visited and the food was great. There was good communication, with staff who spoke Korean, Portuguese, or at least clear English.
But on my most recent visit, none of the staff could speak Korean, Portuguese, or proper English. We spoke with several employees, and communication was a serious issue. I have food allergies and asked to speak with someone responsible or from the kitchen to make sure I could eat safely. That wasn’t possible. After a lot of confusion, one staff member vaguely said the food was safe, but I couldn’t confirm anything directly with the kitchen or a manager.
The food itself was a big disappointment — very greasy, with a completely different and unpleasant taste compared to my last visit. It felt like a different restaurant. I’m not sure if the ownership changed or if there are no longer Korean cooks, but the food has definitely lost its authenticity.
We gave our feedback, but once again, it didn’t seem to be understood. I won’t be coming back, and I don’t recommend it to anyone looking for real...
Read moreOne of the better Korean food in Porto area. The service was great. The manager, David, was very friendly. The space itself has good ambience. Kimchi was great. Well seasoned and fermented. I love the spice level. I hope they will have more variation in the future. Seafood Pajeon. The flavor was great. But I wish it was cut in smaller pieces Bulgogi has great flavor, but some of the meat pieces were a bit tough Spicy pork udon has great flavor overall.
I love the place. I will come back and try more food. ❤️
Edit: I came back for a couple more times within two weeks and tried a few more things: kimchi wasn’t as well fermented and seasoned as the first time I tried it kimchi fried rice was too buttery, and the flavor of kimchi was not there Sundubu jjigae was very good. tteokboki was good, I do wish they mix the cabbage together instead of just adding them on top. the server didn’t have enough knowledge of the menu. We made reservation through thefork, but she didn’t take the 30% off. Unfortunately we didn’t realize that and didn’t get the receipt.
I also wish they have more...
