I just checked out of this hotel after a 3 nights stay. The location is EXCELLENT, literally a couple of minutes walk from some of the attractions. I arrived via FlixBus and the station is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. I don’t recommend this walk however because if the hilly streats and stone sidewalks. The hotel itself is very clean and there are sufficient bathroom amenities.|The check-in instructions were sent to me very clearly before my stay and I found the check in very easy and the iron I asked for was in the room already.|Now the problematic part! I was given the attic room “no. 5” which was a disaster. It consists of a separate bedroom and bathroom separated by a walking space. All of this would have been fine if it wasn’t viewable by anyone in the stairwell! Also, the bathroom had a window inside the shower with no blinds which means that any shower would be a public show! The bedroom itself had an extremely low ceiling, note that I am only 160 cm tall! You can’t sit in bed or get up without hitting your head. The stairs are wooden so you will hear anyone walking up or downstairs. There is no elevator so keep that in mind if you are not a light traveler.|I called the person who contacted me on Booking.com and explained that I need to change the room for the reasons above and she offered me another room for the first 2 nights but asked me to move back to the attic on my third night as they were fully booked. The other room was fine, no complaints.|In summary, it is an excellent budget hotel if you can keep away from the...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Porto: definitely worth visiting. It was a Thursday. As we entered the side street off a promising part of Porto we were dismayed to see two strip clubs - hiding behind the moniker of Gentleman's Clubs. This immediately made me regret booking this place as my teen daughter was with us. On entering the main door into the hallway we went through another coded door to a lovely interior so our spirits were lifted after the initial shock! This was short-lived however as we didn't get any sleep until 5am when music from across the street ended. I tried listening to a podcast but my regular headphones couldn't cancel out that background beat of thump, thump, thump, thump! It was my fault for mixing up Oporto House (which has no parking) with Turim Oporto (which provides parking). Maybe don't make that mistake if you value your sleep. On the plus side if you like strip clubs and don't need much sleep this is right up your street!|We enjoyed good, healthy food at nearby NOLA (short for no label). We parked at the Trindade public carpark about a 10 min walk away (it is covered in splendid murals) and it cost us 24 euros for our stay of just...
Read moreConfortable hotel boutique located at the very heart of the city center. Recommend it for short stay. Rooms are well equipped, bed is comfortable, sofa as well, proper bedding, proper towels. In terms of cleaning some improvements to do though but nothing shocking or disgusting. Not very noisy which is appreciable when located at the very center of the city and very close to bars.
I will suggest more places to store things and a little refrigerator will be nice specially for summer.
Service is top, ladies are very welcoming and keen to help you with whatever you might needed. Easy to communicate with the landladies and very efficient to solve any problem or reply to any demand. Our room for exemple had a problem with the shower but it was rapidly solved.
Breakfast is possible on demand. 8 euros per person and it includes bread, coffee/tea, natural juice and fruits.
There are very good restaurants and cafés nearby. Close to the metro station which is...
