SweetKorea — Restaurant in Porto

Exceptional culinary experience! I had the pleasure of dining with two friends, and we were all thoroughly impressed by the delightful cuisine. While the preparation might have taken some time, the food arrived with an incredible burst of flavors that was well worth the wait. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment. While I'm not a Korean food expert, I was captivated by the rich flavors and the attentive and friendly waitstaff. For me, this was undoubtedly a five-star dining adventure.

I do have one minor request: could there be an expansion of vegetarian and plant-based options on the menu? I appreciate the quick turnaround, and I understand that achieving the desired fermentation time for kimchi can be challenging. However, the addition of more extended fermented kimchi, perhaps even a spicier version, would have been a truly delightful inclusion. It's a culinary desire I hold.

Without further ado, I wholeheartedly encourage you to experience this restaurant firsthand. You'll undoubtedly be met with a pleasing surprise. An additional perk to note is the comfortable seating—perfect for taking a moment to rest your weary legs.

As someone who has watched some Korean dramas and movies, I was so curious to taste some foods - especially the fried chickens - I saw on those dramas. So yeah, happy to say that SweetKorea didn’t disappoint my expectations. I love the jjang vegan rice — my first time eating black bean paste and super love it! The sweet chili chicken was also delicious. Our fav thing of the day was the korean tea—smells like popcorn and tastes awesome! We were thinking to try the goldfish bread but our stomach was full. Will go again to have the bread and Korean coffee!

Ps. The toilet was clean, and the waiter was nice. Plus plus points! The only minus point was the table near the window. It was a bit taller for average height, so we got a bit cramped there. Regardless, not that of a serious...

1st photo : I tried the black bean paste with rice (Jjajangbap) and to my surprise it tasted really good! My palate is tuned to a Korean and i was pleasantly surprised how authentic the flavours were. The pork was very juicy and the serving sizr was very generous.

2nd photo: i enjoyed my first visit so much i decided to take some back to enjoy at my hotel. I got the same but with sweet chilli chicken as well. The chicken was delicious, tender and juicy. Really good flavours.

I’ll happily give this place a solid 9. Amongst travelling all around porto and craving korean food, this hit the spot. The owner is also friendly and welcome me back when i visited a second time...
