Taj Palace — Restaurant in Sintra

Food was okay, not so flavorful and tasted mostly salty to me. Garlic naan was good though. Their spicy level is adapted to the white Europeans 😂the medium spicy I got was not spicy at all. The restaurant was mostly empty but the waiter sounded a bit impatient, the way he repeatedly asked me about the spicy level while I was just taking a second to think felt a bit weird as if I didn't understand English. Also they grilled customers to pay with cash even though card payment was accepted. And if you happen to sit at the center of the restaurant (not by the walls), you might smell the bathroom which was kind of annoying. Ok! So we are visiting Sintra and decide to go for dinner one night. The staff is amazing, the food is great!! What can go wrong Two nights later- we order via uber eats the same items Butter Chicken and Malai Kofta along with naans! Guess what - things can go terribly wrong! The food items taste like they were made in a sugar syrup- no taste! We wasted €52 !!! Now, as I walk past the restaurant and stop and complain - the “cook” says, I made it and it’s the best there is! Literally, not open to take feedback and rude to the point - “get lost” attitude!!! A very traditional Indian restaurant with absolutely delicious food. I had the Butter Chicken and it was amazing – rich flavor, tender meat, and the portions (both rice and main dishes) are very generous. We shared naan bread, samosas, two Butter Chicken with rice, and even finished with a kulfi, which I can highly recommend.
