UPDATE: We have now dined here half a dozen times and it has remained consistently one of the best restaurants in Tomar...and in the whole country. The Nero Risotto (black rice with prawns and scallops) is the best rice dish we have ever had. EVER...anywhere. (We also really loved the Templario Risotto (confit duck with chorizo.) The Bacalhau Real is simply amazing too, as is the salmon, when it's on the menu. the Tabua (charcuterie platter) is the best in all of Tomar (and is a bargain at only 15 euros), and their desserts really hit the spot and both came properly served with ice cream! Additionally, they have a great wine selection (including some good port wine) and serve our favorite beer - the dark colored but light bodied Bock Damm (from Estrella). Finally, the service was top notch, for sure. Our two servers were attentive and accommodated our special requests without hesitation. (I drink my port in regular wine glasses, not little glasses, and have it with my meal, and they had no problem with this.) I'm sorry I don't remember the young lady's name because she was doing the owner proud with her great service but we do remember Nunu and David, who both also made this dinner one of best dining experiences in Portugal. We have a lot of favorite restaurants in Tomar, but feel like this meal may have been the best we have had so far. We will definitely be back.

We had lunch reservations and our food was served in a timely manner. Everything was excellent and all four of us we're happy with our service and food. I like it when I ask for water or salt or anything extra and it actually shows up, we didn't ask to ask for anything a second time. I ordered a Sangria pitcher and it was great. I drank it all by myself and I usually don't drink a lot of alcohol. LOL! At the end of the meal I got a coffee and it was brought out with extra steamed milk which was a wonderful surprise. The restaurant is very cute inside, and there is exterior seating. After eating we took a walk through the beautiful park across the street. It has a lot of water and was very tranquil with a beautiful water wheel in action.

I have never encountered service as rude as what I experienced at your establishment. There was no indication of a wait-to-be-seated policy, nor were there any reserved signs on the outdoor tables we selected. When a waiter approached, instead of handling the situation with courtesy, we were abruptly informed that we should have waited to be seated and were then instructed to vacate the table and leave. I strongly suggest you improve your communication practices and reconsider your approach if you expect patrons to return.

We agree with the excellent reviews this restaurant has received - as we too feel the food is excellent each & every time we have come here in the almost 2 years since we arrived in Portugal. It is our “go to” restaurant to invite new expat friends - as we know the food is consistently good & have tried several of the fish & risotto dishes already mentioned - love the ginger soy shrimp appetizer & several choices of steak dishes with different sauces - which is not common in Portugal & not too thin as about 1/2”-2/3” thick - & have requested med-med rare & always on the mark - great wine selection & house wine very good too - we occasionally share a dessert after & well made choices - service is always very friendly & attentive too - inside or out - outside a bit quieter than inside & nice in good weather - but we tend to go earlier than later when the restaurant gets full capacity - regardless - our guests always enjoy the food choices & we don’t worry about getting a poorly served meal. Best to call to see if you need to...
