Wagner's Loft — Restaurant in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

If I could give it 10 stars, I would! As we stayed at Casa Wagner overnight, we decided to dine at Wagner's Loft and it was the most delicious food ever, I'm really glad we didn't decide to eat at one of the many, many other places, it would have been a shame to miss this gem! And the food was so good on the first night, we went there for dinner the next evening as well! I personally loved the chicken breast in cheddar sauce, it was perfectly cooked and tasted divine, and the ribs were a close second, just melt-in-the-mouth deliciousness! The onion soup was a great starter, while the fruit salads and lava cakes were the perfect finish (we shared the fruit salad and lava cake&ice-cream between us and the combo was even better hint-hint!) The rest of the diners had the Fritto Misto, Caesar Salad and the Gnochetti alla Sorrentina, everything being thoroughly enjoyed! The blueberry mocktails (forgot the name) and the virgin Pina Colada were also perfect! And as delicious as the food is, it does not cook itself or bring itself to the table, so the absolute diamonds of this place are the staff!! Compliments to the chef/s for the delicious food, and to the waiting staff (the girl with brown hair and lots of tattoos, the girl with pink hair - sorry I didn't catch your names, and Sorina)! The very long wait time. Even though there were only a few tables occupied inside and two on the terrace, we had to wait 50 minutes for our order, which was frustrating and difficult to justify.

The food didn’t live up to the wait. The potatoes served with the ribs were completely tasteless, and the ribs themselves were quite dry. What surprised me most was that no sauce was offered with the side dish.

The salads weren’t even worth evaluating as standalone dishes, I think. The soup was overly sour, likely due to an excessive amount of tomato. It was difficult to eat, even though the fish and seafood themselves were actually tasty. Overall, it felt more like seafood in tomato sauce than a proper soup.

Service was disappointing-the waiter walked past our table several times without acknowledging us or offering any updates. Surprisingly, the manager seemed more involved than the waiter, making more of an effort to ensure we at least received some attention and acceptable service.

Ein Besuch in der ostrumänischen Stadt Brasov, die auf Deutsch Kronstadt heißt. Die Unterkunft im Casa Wagner entsprach den Erwartungen. Dem Haus angeschlossen ist Wagners Loft, ein Restaurant, das für sich in Anspruch nimmt, eine gehobene, internationale Küche anzubieten. Auch die Gasträume sind ansprechend und zeitgemäß gestaltet, alles soweit sehr erfreulich und vielversprechend. Unser Besuch begann auf der oberen Terrasse, die an diesem Montagabend geschlossen war. Wir wählten einen schönen Tisch im Hauptraum des Restaurants, der zwar für sechs Personen eingedeckt war, aber aufgrund der geringen Auslastung (auch den ganzen Abend über nicht weiter besetzt) auch für uns zwei Personen nicht unangemessen erschien. Leider nicht, und das war die erste Enttäuschung des Abends. wir mussten den Tisch vor den Augen aller anderen Gäste lautstark räumen. Wir setzten uns dann unter den Augen der anderen Gäste an einen Tisch für 4 Personen, obwohl es auch mehrere Tische für 2 Personen gab! Unser Kellner war zuvorkommend und freundlich. Ansonsten waren die Kellner eine Herausforderung. Als Einheimischer wäre ich mit diesem Service nicht einverstanden und würde nicht wiederkommen. Kommen wir zum Wesentlichen. Die Auswahl der Speisen und Getränke. Getränke soweit gut und ohne Kritik. Ansprechend präsentiert und preislich im Rahmen. Ich bewerte heute nur mein Essen, das meines Partners lasse ich außen vor. Als Vorspeise hatte ich den frisch zubereiteten Caesar's Salad. Die Präsentation eher häuslich. Statt Salatherzen gab es geschnittenen Eisbergsalat. Das Dressing war ausgewogen und passend, aber nicht klassisch wie erwartet. Die Hähnchenbrust, die kurz auf dem Grill mit Raucharomen aromatisiert wurde, war trocken und völlig über dem Garpunkt. Insgesamt eher ein Imbiss in der Kantine als in einem Restaurant mit Qualitätsanspruch. Als Hauptgang wählte ich gebratene Tintenfischarme. Die Präsentation gefiel mir. Ein mit Tinte gefärbter Chip, etwas krauser Salat und eine knusprige Fächerkartoffel, garniert mit extravagantem Chimichurri. Die Arme wurden auf dem Holzkohlegrill aromatisiert und fertig gegrillt. Leider, wie schon bei der Hühnerbrust, völlig über dem gewünschten Gargrad. Mein Partner und ich verzichteten auf das Dessert. Die Unaufmerksamkeit des Servicepersonals tat ihr Übriges. Als ich bei der Rechnung nicht 10% Trinkgeld, sondern nur 5 für den gebotenen Service geben wollte, war endgültig Eiszeit angesagt.
