We've never stayed in any of the rooms (we live nearby) but we go there frequently for lunch and always have a great meal with good service and relaxing atmosphere. We were there once during a party in the bar (manager's daughter's bday) and indeed it was noisy. The sound travels very well. ||||But, normally, lunches there are relaxing and quiet and pleasant. The chef often comes out of the kitchen to check in with guests. Very kind. ||||Our favorite meals are the beef steak with mash and veg, the chicken cordon bleu, and the Select Caesar salad (see photo). I don't think romaine lettuce is even available in Rwanda, but the kitchen here always gives its best shot. It could include any variety of lettuce, tomatoes, whatever cheese happens to be available in town at the moment, good croutons, and an egg cooked in the cutout of a piece of bread balanced on top. The dressing is fresh and good - could use a touch more anchovy paste - but still good. ||||Service is great. Most often, Slaymon is our service and he is so friendly and helpful. But, all the servers are great, and warm up as soon as you joke with them a bit and don't behave like a crabby tourist. ||||Good, out of the way place for lunch! Their brunch...
Read moreWe arrived close to midnight with a surprisingly swift check in. Room was large and spacious with large rain shower. Curtains are made of light material and let the sun in so if you like dark room this won't work for you. Breakfast takes FOREVER after order. Eggs came hard and cold accompanied with cold sausages. Order 30 to 40 mins in advance. Breakfast scored 4/10. Dinner seams to be the hotels forte. Served hot an within reasonable time. Staff are friendly but there seems to be some background disorganisation/ confusion. The hotel is affliated to a local gym but when i asked for a ticket they had none. They gave me stamped paper attempted to show me vague directions to the gym after which they assigned the guard to run with me to gym about 1.2km away. I got there with stamped piece of paper from hotel which gym refused to honor but later agreed after more senior person also came to hotel to check on me. Staff are very friendly and really want to do well but seem untrained. There was also low/ no water on my second morning. Hotel is walking distance from convention centre and kigali...
Read moreThis is NOT a hotel and certainly NOT a boutique hotel but rather a very noisy bar with a few rooms as an excuse for a hotel!||The initial room my husband was put in had mold on the ceilings, smelt like damp, had no desk and very little natural light!||||After he complained he was moved to another room where the TV didn’t work and he had to disconnect the bar fridge as it sounded like a tractor.||Every night the bar below his hotel room is supposed to close at 11pm but the noise continued well into the early hours of the morning.||||On his last night (he had been there 3 nights already) he couldn’t take the noise anymore and went downstairs to complain but there was no management nor staff around which summarizes the total lack of management at the hotel! ||||All of this for $115 a night which is just below what the Marriott charges!||Unfortunately he had no choice to move due to a huge conference being...
