This restaurant is exclusively for smokers. If you're not an active smoker, you will be a passive smoker when you visit -- even while you wait for takeout.
When I arrived, I stood near the doorway for a minute, but none of the servers spoke to me. I was a little unsure who was even a server, and I walked inside, hoping to be seated in the non-smoking area. I saw an empty dining room and when I finally asked, I was told (by perhaps the owner) that sitting indoors was not permitted. I knew that outdoor seating would be smoky.
I sat down at a table outside. Before I even ordered, I was told by two different staff members that the 4-person table where I was sitting was not permitted for individuals. I would have to move, but I was also told that there were no individual tables available just yet. When one man left, I would be able to sit at his table. The individual/couple tables were along the road.
I moved to a small table. I ordered, and then lo and behold, people near me started smoking. I tried to get the attention of a waiter to request takeout of my order. One waiter looked right at me but ignored my raised hand gesture. I then gave up calling a server; maybe my request would have been too complicated to explain.
My order came while customers near me were still smoking. I told the server I wanted it packaged for takeout. He seemed annoyed. Later when he served my takeout, I also ordered dessert.
In the meantime, I noticed a couple paying a tip at their table as they were leaving. I didn't think my experience deserved a tip, but I didn't want to look like a jerk. I gave the server 800 dinars instead of exact change, and he automatically understood that I was leaving a tip; he did not offer change. That was not cheap for me.
I was already hungry, but with no clean place to eat, I walked all the way back to my hostel -- half an hour away. At least by the time I ate my meal, the french fries were no longer fresh or anything beyond mediocre. The Serbian salad was OK, and the dessert was fine.
This was my disappointing first...
Read moreThat was the first time we've ever tried local meatballs and was amazing cevapis with salty kaymak and big burgers, also the place was good as location and ambiance but service quality was awful, as 6 people we needed to wait around 15 minutes to give order and more than 30 minutes to have them, unfortunately this was not the worst part. There was a waiter that serves our party, he was so rude and definitely a mean person, he took our order in a roughly rush, throw plates to the table in a mean way, and reply our and claims and questions terribly. We finished our meals and asked for check and we were gonna pay cash, same waiter brought the check and stand still on us, he said "let me tell you the rules, you can pay euro and dinar, coins are not accepted and if you split, leave the all amount and you can split it by yourself, I don't have time for wait you". We shocked and try to calculate amounts quickly, he rushed and rushed us as saying weird things, we were gonna leave a big tip despite all of this bad treatment, but in final he said "if you are gonna leave 50 dinar, don't bother" with really really bad voice tone. In the conclusion, place and food is okay but if you don't want to ruin the rest of your evening, don't go there or if you went there, sit somewhere that big bald waiter is not going...
Read moreMeat that I got was really raw, it had a good pink color. When asked about it, waiter took the meat and after couple of minutes they brought the same piece but tried to mask it with additional mustard and onion they placed on top of it (since i already started cutting it before they took it, I saw that it was the same burger). Once I reached the thicker part of the burger, you could definitely see that the meat was still a bit raw. After that I stopped eating, and I've told the waiter that the burger is still semi-raw. One of his colleagues came by to educate me, and to explain that their meat is of great quality and that it is normal for it to have that red/pinkish color. Meat was rather rubbery, under-cooked, and the overall experience was really bad. I will never again go there, nor would I recommend it to anyone (not even to my worst enemy, if i had one).
There are a lot of good options when it comes to meat in Belgrade, unfortunately I had to make a mistake...
