A very unique pizza experience! This is not typical pizza you have in Belgrade, it is not your fluffy Italian dough, nor your "Serbian" pizza with a lot of oregano and heavy cheese toppings. It is something completely different - great American pizza (Chicago and Detroit style pizza).
We have heard of Billy's food truck in Zemun a while ago, but we were never in that area to try them out.
Atmosphere: When they opened a new location in the heart of Dorćol we had to give them a try. The location has an outdoor area with a handful of tables (it was raining so we decided to sit inside). Inside the tables have a classic red and white checkered tablecloths, there is a framed Chicago Bulls #23 jersey, a painting showcasing everything that Chicago has to offer, and some Detroit related items. It has a very simple and cozy vibe. Music was great, not too loud, which additionally gave touch to general atmosphere. It is perfect for a date.
Food: Being first time at the restaurant we did not know what to order so we got suggestions from the waitress. They have two completely different styles of pizzas: Chicago and Detroit so we decided to give them both a try:
Detroit Style: we got Billy's Signature (1.545 RSD). 4.5 /5 stars At the first bite I thought of cheesy bread or focaccia with lots of toppings. The pizza comes on a grate to let the grease be on the bottom and not have the pizza soggy. The toppings for us were a bit too much, there is pepperoni, sausage, bacon - the taste was overshadowed by the rich flavour of the dough and cheese, onions and jalapeños. Next time we will get a simpler version; cheese, onions and jalapeños will be enough.
Chicago Style: We got the Buffalo Chicken (1.495 RSD) - 5/5 stars). We opted for the 30cm pizza (it comes in 40cm as well). This is a thin crust pizza which comes in a circular shape, however the slices are cut in squares. The flavour is different from Detroit’s—richer and more intense, The pizza we ordered also comes with onions and jalapeño, with additions of chicken with buffalo sauce. It is a tad spicy.
For both of these pizzas, the onions and jalapeños gave it a special touch.
The two of us shared these two pizza and managed to finish about half, we took the rest to go. Even cold, both pizzas were amazing! (Notice the pizza box that we got it packed in, has indents and instructions to make plates, a very nice touch).
Service: the service was very friendly and attentive.
In conclusion: Next time we go we will split one pizza, we might have to resort to flipping a coin to decide if it will be...
Read moreAs a Canadian, this pizza was by far the closest replica to the usual pizzas I would have from pizza hut. The 50/50 Italian sausage & pepperoni was exactly what I would expect from any pizzeria in North America. My only complaint would be to have more of the toppings, as there was about 1.5 slices of pepperoni/sausage bits on each slice. All in all phenomenal place and I'll definitely back!
Edit Jan 23rd 2025: during this repeat visit, the service was quite literally nonexistent. Not only did it take about 5-10 minutes for the waitress present in the same room doing nothing to provide us with menus, but after that she immediately disappeared, replaced by a waiter who spent the next 20+ minutes sitting behind the counter talking on the phone. During this time another table got up and left after waiting as long as we had. Around 15 minutes in I asked if we could place our order, which was utterly ignored. At long last when he finished his phone call he proceeded to take the order of a man who came in 2 minutes earlier as we and another table still sat waiting, before finally coming to us with some half hearted apology about how the cashier system was having an issue. God knows why he couldn't say that at any point, or what that even has to do with us placing our orders. Thankfully when we finally did get the food, it was still of phenomenal quality, so theres...

The interior is fantastic—stylish and cozy, making it a very comfortable place to spend time. The waitress was fine—polite and efficient, though nothing particularly noteworthy. The only downside was the restroom, which could have been cleaner; it felt a bit neglected.
Now, onto the food. The menu offers two types of pizza: one with a thin crust and another with a cornmeal base. Both were absolutely delicious! The dough was perfect, the toppings well-balanced, and the flavors outstanding. The pizza alone is definitely worth coming back for.
However, the desserts were a complete disaster. After waiting 20 minutes, we were served something that looked like a cow patty and was about 70% sugar. It was awful. The contrast between the incredible pizza and the terrible dessert was shocking. Honestly, these desserts should just be removed from the menu to avoid ruining an otherwise great experience.
Overall, it’s a fantastic spot—just make sure to stick to the pizza and steer clear of...
