I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Courtyard by Marriott at Belgrade, and I must say it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality.
The hotel itself is stunning, with its modern and stylish design. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities one could ask for. The bed was incredibly cozy, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring the beautiful city of Belgrade.
One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable service provided by the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that all my needs were met and that I felt like a valued guest. Whether it was providing recommendations for local attractions, arranging transportation, or attending to any requests, their attention to detail was truly impressive.
The dining options at the hotel were also exceptional. The restaurant offered a diverse menu with delicious dishes that catered to all tastes. The breakfast buffet was a delight, with a wide variety of fresh and scrumptious options to choose from. The bar was a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a refreshing drink after a long day.
The location of the hotel is ideal, as it is situated in the heart of Belgrade, with easy access to many popular attractions, shopping areas, and restaurants. It made exploring the city a breeze, and I was able to make the most of my time there. (The pictures provided were literally taken from the doorsteps of the hotel)

Read moreWe absolutely adored our hotel. It's unbeatable location on the pedestrianized shopping/bar/restaurant street meant that taxis were unknown and every tour could end up right in the heart of the city. The hotel is very business orientated which we have always found to be a bonus as everything is ship-shape and efficient. Airport pick-up/drop-off was like a dream. The staff were so accommodating it took me back as I have often found Eastern European countries to be a bit brusque in the service department. Not so the Serbs who are fun and warm and open. They are near Greece after all!! Being a non-smoker I did find the bars/restaurants a bit overwhelmingly smoky so the chance to sit at the lovely non-smoking bar every night was too good a treat to miss. They also stocked my favourite beer Paulaner. The food was predictably top-notch and the bar staff could not have been friendlier letting us sample the local brandies and sweets!! We just loved getting back to our Marriott after each exhausting day. I even quipped that I could happily have stayed there for life! It was that pleasant. Finally, the prices were extremely reasonable as our 5 day bar/food bill (we ate and drank every night there for hours) came to about 200$!!! Oh Belgrade...
Read moreAs a lifetime Marriott Platinum member I would alternate between The Metropol and the Courtyard. Each had its own benefits; the Metropol had more amenities, lounges, spa, nicer rooms and free breakfast.
The Courtyard reaped the benefits of being seriously downtown while maintaining a free breakfast.
I have over 1500 nights and 9 years of Platinum status with Marriott International. Apparently that no longer warrants a breakfast anymore...rather a $10 F&B voucher at the Courtyard (and apparently at a number of other chains affiliated with the Marriott brand).
This isn't crying about a measly breakfast, it's a highlight indicating that all the dedication and hard work warrants less now than it used to. Marriott should take a leaf from Hilton, where it's the same across the board for all chains.
It takes numerous nights and $20,000 USD a year to reach Platinum + Ambassador status, thus it truly is shameful a giant conglomerate cannot provide breakfast to its loyal customers.
This is not to take anything away from the staff, they were extremely helpful and we'll trained. No fault of theirs they've been given such orders.
Marriott Inc: Change up your strategy. Frugality does not produce loyalty, it's a juvenile early 2000s...
