So I learned about this place through a Korean friend who used to work here. He always talked about having Dakgalbi, and this was my third time trying the meal. It's in Hongdae, so it was pretty accessible. To be honest, it wasn't that easy to find, but Hongdae itself is fun, no probs. I came here at 7:30 in wednesday, but the place looked pretty full. I sat down at a table, and they gave me the menu board. They have two options of Dakgalbi - with cheese, or no cheese. Of course, I chose cheese. Also, there were 4 stages of spicy - mild, medium, spicy, very spicy. I chose medium. After ordering, they gave us the Korean side dishes. Red radish that was kind of sweet and sour, seasoned cale(?) salad, and cabbage salad. Although they look and sound weird, they taste okay. The good part is in the Dakgalbi. The meat comes out cooked, but they keep the fire on to keep it warm and melt the cheese. The chicken, which you can never go wrong with, was soft. I had the rice cake and sweet potato more cooked, and they were a nice addition. I also ordered extra ramen in the Dakgalbi - I am glad I made the decision. Although I heard that fried rice was a good way to end the meal, I was too full to try it. I'll probably have it next time. One special thing about this restaurant is that it is very global. At least one third of the customers seem to be from abroad, so I didn't feel alone. Also, other than the manager and the cooks, the waiters were all diverse. None seemed to be Korean, and they spoke Korean and English. They explained the dishes when asked. The experience here was Korean enough for me, yet had enough international people for me to feel comfortable. Most importantly it had the best taste out of all the Dakgalbi places I went to. If I do give one advice, it would be to come to this place early in weekends since the manager tells me that there are often waiting lines. I guess that would be the downside of this place? Yeah. I'll give this...
Read moreI enjoyed dining here, recommend going here if you are in the area.
They started with serving you a small scallion pancake per person. And lay out all the side sides for you. You can ask for an apron to protect you clothes.
I ordered the medium spicy cheese fondue chicken with vegetable (2 person portion, 30,000 won), which came with small amount of rice cake. I added a order of ramen in the beginning. They let me do half and half of the cheese toppings. The chicken is tender and flavorful. The cabbage and rice cake are great to balance out the heavy cheese and meat. I think the medium spicy level is pretty mild (pretty accurate as shin ramen), will definitely challenge yourself a spicier version if you have medium to high spicy tolerance. This meal is great with beer because it is quite heavy. If you love rice cake, I will recommend to add more of that. Or you can save some appetite to add an order to fried rice after you finished the meat. Overall, I am very satisfy with the food, atmosphere and service, for an...

I have eaten Dakgalbi with cheese fondue. it was not too greasy, it was savory, and it became more delicious with the additional menus such as ramen, udong, cheese tteok and goguma tteok. I couldn’t finish it because it was too much for two servings. Compared to the large amount, the cost effectiveness was good. It was 14,000 won per person, but despite the fact that it’s a single portion, it’s a lot, so I think it’s cost effective. It’s ten out of ten because of the delicious cool and friendly servers. isn’t it a good chance to eat...
