I had a very disappointing experience here due to the rudeness of the staff. When I initially asked if we could sit with our small dog, the older waiter very rudely and abruptly told us no dogs were allowed. While disappointing, we respected the rule and left.
However, 30 minutes later, I passed by again and noticed a much larger dog sitting inside. Thinking there might have been a misunderstanding, I went back to ask for a table. Unfortunately, the same waiter and a younger waitress were both unnecessarily rude in reaffirming that no dogs were allowed. How one dog is allowed in and a much smaller is not, still stays a mystery.
While other establishments may also have restrictions for pets, they handle it kindly and professionally. Sadly, that was not the case here. I find it puzzling that this place is recommended for its staff when my experience was the complete opposite.
Edit: Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review, but I must respectfully disagree with your version of events. I want to clarify that I was polite throughout the situation, despite the unpleasant behavior of your staff. Claiming otherwise feels like an attempt to deflect attention from their actions.
My initial interaction with your staff was abrupt and unwelcoming. When I entered, the older waiter simply waved us out without greeting us or offering any explanation beyond “no dogs allowed,” despite there clearly being another dog inside at the time. When I politely asked how one dog was allowed while another was not, the older waiter refused to provide any explanation.
The waitress was equally dismissive and curt, telling us to leave immediately without any attempt at politeness or explanation. There is a difference between "sorry, we don't have a table" and "you can't come in". Truthfully, I was rather shocked by their tone and behavior.
Perhaps if your staff had explained that only one dog is allowed at certain times in the restaurant (even if this seems like an arbitrary and fabricated rule), it would have helped clarify the situation. Instead, they made no effort to communicate respectfully and only came across as hostile.
Even the other dog's owners apologized on your staff’s behalf, acknowledging how unfair and unprofessional their behavior was.
In contrast, a nearby restaurant handled a similar situation with kindness and professionalism, welcoming us and even allowing another guest with a dog to enter without any hostility. It is disappointing that your establishment fell so short in comparison.
I hope you take this feedback constructively and focus on creating a more consistent and courteous experience for...
Read moreWe were visiting Kosice and looking for a new place to eat while walking in Old Town. The bright colors and design made us want to try this place. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to eat indoors since it was so hot and humid outside with no breeze. It was still warm inside but we did like the decorations. The tables and chairs are mismatched and there were lots of different options to sit at. We chose a smaller two person table. The wait staff didn’t seem as welcoming and I’m not sure if it’s because they could immediately tell we were American and spoke English. They seemed a little bothered by us and were very short. My friend tried asking a few questions about some menu items and then felt like she was bothering them even though he was our waiter. The strawberry lemonade was good. I tried to get an iced tea but it came out hot (which is normal in EU). I didn’t ask for ice because I thought he would be further annoyed by us, despite us trying to be overly nice to him. The food was very good! I started with chicken broth soup, which is basically chicken noodle. I was very happy with the flavor and portion. For the main course, I had stuffed grilled chicken which came with a moist chicken breast on top of potatoes and cubed stuffing with a glorious sauce. I ate the whole thing and wished I had more! My friend had the lasagne which she said was good even though the beef was shredded and had a distinct taste. We also shared a marinated pork belly that came with red cabbage and gnocchi. The gnocchi were perfect pillows with an herb butter sauce. The top of the pork belly was very hard but it was easy to peel that off and eat the meat below. It was basic pork without any extra seasoning but was still good. Overall, I loved my chicken dish and I would definitely eat it again. The decor is cute and inviting, prices were very reasonable and the food was excellent. I just wasn’t too happy with the slow service and feeling of not...
