DONT GO. We visited Taj Mahal on Saturday evening expecting a pleasant experience but it was anything but that. Firstly the air conditioning was broken when the heat outside was 35 degrees. The waiter gave us a menu and returned two minutes later and stood by our table pressuring us to decide. We ordered a mix vegetable curry which arrived with chunks of paneer cheese in it. The menu didnt state that the dish would have any dairy in it. We quickly realised it had cheese inside it so we politely asked the waiter if he could make this dish again without cheese in it as im allergic. He then returned two minutes later with exactly the same dish with little bits of cheese still in there. We werent happy with that but ate the rest of the food we ordered and left the curry with cheese aside. We then asked for the dish to be removed off the bill, again very politely, as we havent even touched it seen as it still had cheese in it. The waiter refused and blamed us for not mentioning the dairy allergy, and said that vegetable mix curry always comes with cheese. This isnt true as we always order this dish at any Indian restaurant we go to and this has never happened before. He then proceeded to start shouting at my boyfriend and I, still refusing to remove the dish from the bill. We were very irritated and upset by the service. The waiter also again mentioned dairy is always used in this dish, raising his voice at us again when there is no mention of this at all on the menu. We decided to google the dish recipe and looked at multiple ones and none of them mentioned any dairy. He then called another colleague out and began to speak about us in another language whilst stood at the table still. We wouldnt give up and kept asking for the dish to be removed off the bill and said we will happily pay for everything else. After arguing for good 10 minutes he finally agreed to remove the dish slamming the bill on the table and proceeding to be rude. When we left the restaurant he followed us and shouted 'you people just want free food'. This was ridiculous to us as we payed for everything else and didnt touch the cheese dish. We have never recieved such poor service and wouldnt recommend this...
Read moreSo amazing restaurant! The menu choice is so wide that you have troubles to decide. There is definitely something for everybody from gluten free options to vegetarian or vegan. The portion of main dish did not seem big enough when it was delivered; however, it turned out as being too big. Also, share side dish (rice, potatoes) with another person because you really get a lot. Three of us were very satisfied with the taste of everything we ordered. Baked potatoes were too salty and spiced for me but delicious anyway. You can either take regular basmati rice (which they deliver from India) or rice combined with some other things, e.g. coconut rice, rice with peas, rice with tomatoes, rice with lemon. Regarding main dishes, we had Lamb Do Piaza (Punjabi style lamb with fried onions and green peppers), Beef Do Piaza (Punjabi style beef with fried onions and green peppers) and Lamb Karahi (lamb with green peppers and tomatoes in Punjabi curry sauce). The latter is also gluten free and all of them so delicious. Moreover, garlic soup was tasty, too. For all these, we paid 50€ which is quite a lot but anyway highly recommended. Generally, the prices for main dishes are between 10€ and 15€, for side dishes...
Read moreDon’t go! They are cheating customers. They do not put the bread in the buffet even though it is clearly advertised than Indian bread is included. When I asked them about the bread, they asked which one i wanted and gave me a choice including garlic bread. They never mentioned it would cost extra and then charge for it at the end saying garlic bread is extra and only plain naan is included in the buffet. when i asked where the plain is in the buffet, they claimed it would ''get cold'' if they left it there. They claim on the ad there are 10 dishes when there are just 5 warm dishes (3 of which are totally unappealing). The person at the cashier counter then asks if I am from india. How does it matter where a guest is from? When i complained about it, they even laugh back at me and told me do whatever you want. The least they could have done was accept their fault and not charge for the bread. 4,40 for garlic naan is a total rip off when naan is a part...
