Indijska restavracija ZAIKA — Restaurant in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

This is my go-to place to recommend to friends and family visiting town. A small place operated by a single person with a small menu of incredibly amazing Indian food that is well worth visiting before trying the competition here. This is an obligatory stop if you like the cuisine.

Vegans and vegetarians are understood and should feel very welcome here. I'd particularly recommend the baigan balti and the rice is excellent. The vegan naan used to be great and if it becomes available again, it'd be worth paying extra for the added labor.

If you don't know much about Indian cooking, the chef, owner, and front-of-house is happy to explain anything about the food that you are curious about. He might also recommend that you don't order a dish as non-spicy, perhaps by asking you to carefully read the sign at the entrance.

We were on a trip to Slovenia n while hoping the streets we googled Indian restaurant n found it and went between 4-5 pm when they were closed n the time was not updated on the Google. Again after nearly 2 hrs came back to the restaurant and asked what we wanted to have he said we are sold out on that item which we wanted to have in a very rude manner. He said we sell many other dishes but you want the one which is sold out. Evn after that rude reply we ordered vegetable biryani n he served it without any raita or pickle n when we asked about it he said we dnt serve it. Evn when we were willing to pay for it evn thn he said we dnt have. I only have a regret that he should have informed us on the first visit only that we are mostly sold out. I been to this restaurant along with my work colleague, we have been given a table which is next to sink. We have been told sink is not in use however everyone was using it to wash hand, so the first impression is they lied. We have ordered the food and we have been told it will get ready after 20 minutes and we can come Back after 20 minutes so we went out for walk and came back after 25 minutes. We got late for 5 minutes and chef/owner started shouting because we got late for 5 minute and refused to serve us and said I have many rich customers to serve and I don’t want customers like you. We said sorry for getting late but he refused to serve and ask us to get out of his restaurant.
