Breakfast took 1 hour 40 min.
We were seated in the front portion of the restaurant during the breakfast service. The waiter had acknowledged us, however, no one came to take our order for close to 30 min. We kindly asked if we could sit in the back of the restaurant as it was much less crowded, was much quieter, and didn't have waiters running around.
Our waitress was very kind and offered us a table that had previously been reserved. When we sat down she said, "you've been waiting for so long would you like a mimosa or drink?" We ordered coffee and she asked if we'd like mimosas two more times. Given what we had been through we appreciated the drink to make up for the time we spent waiting.
After receiving our drinks, we waited another 40 min before anyone would come to take our food order (we had utensils and place mats). Another table next to us ordered, received there food, and paid before our food came. The waiter in this new section was very hectic and not very friendly at all.
Upon finishing our food (which wasn't enjoyable) and asking for the bill, I noticed we were going to be charged for the mimosas. I told the waiter I had not ordered these and instead they were given to us by the other waitress. The waitress who had been so helpful and kind before, became very defensive and argumentative when I told her I did not expect to pay for the mimosas. She spent another minute or so lecturing me about having to pay for items we order and saying that now she has to pay for them herself. (Had she not offered mimosas we would not have ordered them)
Overall a terrible experience. I've been here many times and never had such a bad experience. This place is really starting to fall apart and the food is getting much worse.
Additionally, dogs are allowed inside the establishment which is very unsanitary and annoying. I had a dog under my chair at the first table and one laying next to me at the second table.
Also, when the wind blows the right way you have to breath in the smoke from the people outside as the door is always open.
I would very much so appreciate an apology for what would have otherwise been a...
Read moreWe had reserved a table for a birthday. The breakfast was fantastic! The welcome was incredibly friendly, and the service remained attentive and courteous. The ambiance was cozy and, with the real flowers on the tables, fresh and inviting. Thanks to the ceiling and wall decorations, conversations were subdued, allowing us to converse in peace.
The breakfast selection was very appealing. We started with "Burratina on Sourdough Toast" and "Full on Veggie." Beautifully presented and delicious! Because the veggie dish was a rather small portion and our appetites were large, we followed up with "Poached Eggs, Avo, Labneh, Dukkah" – THAT was a truly wonderful treat! So many flavors and textures blended together, truly delicious.
And because it was a birthday, there was a cake surprise with a candle and two house chocolates. The cake had been secretly arranged, and the arrangements were made very quickly and friendly.
We left the café stuffed and happy. Absolutely...
Read moreWe visited this place for breakfast, which was quite near where we stayed. One thing good about this place is that they open quite early, which is good if you have any morning tours.
Restaurant is quite upscale with a huge interior, comfortable seats and table service, though of course it comes with a higher price tag. Quite comfortable and staff were courteous to us.
Food itself was not bad. They serve the usual European type of breakfast like eggs benedict and coffee. Portion was quite big as well (for my Asian stomach) so you don't have to worry about getting hungry. We did however tried their Foie Gras Eggs Benedict, which is quite worth the price and nice, if you're a fan of foie...
