If Chinese food is your weakness, and you are looking for a great deal then i suggest checking out Lotus Rosebank. Buffets are usually not my thing, but i was privileged to try out their Sunday Buffet (for a ridiculously low price of R119) and i can happily report that it is such great value for money in the heart of Rosebank. The quality of the food is NOT compromised at all, there is massive variety, the food is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. I even got to satisfy my Sushi craving which is part of the buffet offerings. My favourites were the Duck and Crispy Chicken along with noodles and sweet and sour chicken. The sliced Potato Salad is something different and a must try. For desserts you HAVE to have the Egg tarts. Our waitress Gladys was on point. She is a such a pleasure, friendly and good with suggestions. She will even walk you through the tables explaining all the different food. If you are a picky eater, then speak to the staff they will definitely assist. Compliments to the Chef, it was a proper feast. There was just too many pictures of the food not to post all, hence the album. #LotusRosebank #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodMusketeerEats #TFMLotusRosebank

Sunday lunch buffet at R 268 is not worth it. Facebook advertised as R 199. The restaurant is super clean and not crowded so you feel relaxed but it does feel like a canteen and not a traditional Chinese restaurant. The waiters are friendly and clear your plates quickly. The downside is the price and what food is on offer, they do not match. The cooked food is tasty but the sushi needs decent salmon portions and more variety like salmon hand rolls and tuna sashimi etc. Anyone can buy sweet and sour chicken and bok Choi and not spend R 268 on that. The sushi is fresh but scanty. Disappointment from Lizzy when she asked us for more money after giving her a 10% tip for bringing us water and clearing a plate. Bad manners to haggle patrons who feel as though they have already been swindled. Probably better to have a normal dinner or lunch there vs. a buffet as I have heard many good things.

We had dinner with our tour group visiting South Africa. The owner, a friendly lady from Taiwan. She shifted here 30 years ago & never looked back. Dishes are flavourful and noticed the sweet sour prawn sauce was sweet but not much sour taste. The crispy fried pork was good and full of flavours. Cabbage fried with shiitake mushrooms was not too salty so was the lettuce fried with brown sliced mushrooms. Soup was slightly spicy and sour which was hot and a good starter meal to warm the tummy. We had the mix cold dishes with chef made pork meat & sausage etc Finished off the meal with some citrus fruits

Worked at lotus one night for five hours. The managers told me that they would pay my boss directly so that they could pay myself and the girl I worked with. They only payed what was owed to the company for me and not the other girl, and neither her or I’s money were payed to our boss - so neither of us were accounted for but the other girl had to pay the company out of her own pocket. The managers of lotus proceeded to lie to the bosses of the company saying that myself and the other girl left with money that we earned which wasn’t true at all as they specifically told me that they would pay my boss to pay me and proceeded to take all of the money that I had earned. They did in fact NOT pay what was owed to myself or the girl I worked with and didn’t even pay what was owed to the company for the other girl. The managers are LIARS and CHEAP SKATES. Very unprofessional and unimpressed with the...

We had a wonderful dining experience at Lotus Chinese Restaurant. We tried the pork wontons, crispy chicken, and sizzling beef, and each dish exceeded our expectations.

The pork wontons were perfectly crispy, filled with a generous amount of seasoned pork, and came with a flavorful dipping sauce that was just the right balance of savory and tangy. The crispy chicken was a highlight—golden, crunchy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, served with a deliciously light sauce that complemented the dish without overpowering it. Lastly, the sizzling beef arrived at our table with a lovely aroma, still sizzling on a hot plate. The beef was tender and rich in flavor, with vegetable noodles cooked to a crisp tenderness.

The service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance made for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Lotus is a great choice for authentic and well-prepared Chinese dishes. We’ll...
