I am new in Johanneburg and i have visited this bar a few times, the waiters and bar man ROCKS this place.... The setting is very nice as i am a smoker there is a smoking area available to not disrespect the non smokers. The cocktails are from out of this world - The BEST The wine list had various wines to choose from which makes it interesting, i normally have the Rijks Chenin Blanc from the Tulbagh family in Cape Town. I haven't tried the food menu so cant recommend anything. I will most defo be visiting this bar once or more a week, every week. Mix Bar is the hidden gem within a members only club. Wait out the afternoon traffic, take in the spectacular view of lush urban forest of north east Johannesburg while enjoying a cocktail over cool beats. If you get peckish I'd recommend the Sirloin special if they have it otherwise the chicken tenders - both cooked to perfection & delicious. But the real perk of visiting Mix is the service, which is members only standard. Highly trained waiters, attentive without being overbearing who offer good recommendations based on your mood and palate. A bar situated in an enviable location, yet it appears to be on the wane. Half of the menu offerings were unavailable, and attempts at overcharging sans an invoice raised eyebrows, especially given the steep pricing. While these factors do a disservice to the establishment, its interior design is notable. Ingenious twists and turns have crafted a private nook in an otherwise bustling area.
