Traders Time Square — Restaurant in Gauteng

Not recommended.

Most of the low ratings are because of service and well our experience wasn't any different.

Food was fine.

We ordered two pizzas, which was fine, I mean it's tough to mess up a pizza. Chicken strips was ordered with a side salad, we got chips and BBQ sauce, we got sweet chilli. A Cheese Burger with extra cheese sauce, the sauce never arrived. As for drinks, we enquired if Budweiser was available, apparently not, although the whole restaurant/bar is covered with Budweiser decor. We then asked for other beers, which showed up, with no glasses and no way to open them. One member of our party ordered a Pina Colada slushy. We later realized that it was virgin and instead of taking it away and bringing us a fresh one, the waiter opted for bringing us a shot and pouring it on top of the drink. Later we ordered the Brandy Special, two cups showed up with ice and brandy and a single 330ml coke. I won't even mention how many times we requested still water but eventually received it.

Very poor, yet friendly service.

I'm not sure if the waiter was new or just had to much on his plate but getting drinks and food orders wrong is not a great look. After asking for the bill we waited around for 45min and eventually made our way to the pay point, where several staff were standing around for some reason. We then got told we couldn't get a printout of the bill because of some reason. After having a look at the computer screen, thank goodness we did because the waiter just told us what it was and expected us to pay, we noticed items were on there that we didn't order or ordered but didn't receive. This was on a bill of over R1000.

Atmosphere was rough, if I didn't know better I would think they were open for less than a week.

All and all not a great first impression and I doubt we will be returning. I would steer clear of this bar/restaurant unless absolutely nothing else...

Traders Restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a calm, inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is stylish yet relaxed, making it perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. The lighting, music, and overall vibe created such a comfortable setting — you instantly feel at ease.

The service was top-notch. The staff were friendly, professional, and very attentive without being intrusive. They made great recommendations and checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests’ experience.

The drinks menu is also worth mentioning — a great variety of cocktails, mocktails, and classic favorites. Everything was served promptly and beautifully presented. You can tell quality ingredients were used.

Overall, I highly recommend Traders for anyone looking for a great spot with fantastic energy, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be...

1 Star. Would give zero if I could.

We’ve been to this place before, just for a drink and a snack before a show, and even then it wasn’t great. This time was worse. While our waiter was friendly, he got the orders completely wrong. When the food finally came, it was cold and absolutely inedible. Something was clearly off. We sent it back, and the manager gave us a half-hearted apology, offering to make us something else. We declined, but unfortunately, my wife still got sick from what little she had tasted.

If you’re thinking of coming here to watch a game and have a drink, think again. Even if you’re lucky enough to get your order right, I wouldn’t risk it. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ll never set foot in this place again. If you decide to go, good luck to you and whoever’s with you....
