Last night, my wife and I had what can only be described as the worst dining experience we've ever encountered at Shun De Menlyn. From start to finish, the evening was a masterclass in how not to run a restaurant.

The service was non-existent. The waitstaff were rude, dismissive, and blatantly ignored us at every turn. Simple requests to take our orders were met with apathy, and when we tried to address the issues, we were met with indifference.

I ordered sushi as a starter, which was below average at best—hardly the quality you'd expect from a restaurant housed in a Sun International venue. My wife ordered soup, which never arrived. When we tried to inquire about the missing dish, we were met with outright disregard.

Frustrated, I informed the staff that we would be leaving due to the appalling service. Their response? A smug smile and a casual, “You are most welcome to.” No apology, no attempt to rectify the situation—just our bill handed over with an air of nonchalance.

It is utterly baffling that Sun International allows such a poorly managed establishment to operate in their venue. Shun De Menlyn is an embarrassment to the hospitality industry, and I would strongly caution anyone against...

Avoid at all costs. If Google allowed zero stars that would have been my rating. We tried to have dinner at Shun De but it was a total disaster. The food is in my opinion over priced and in true chinese restaurant tradition they seem to constantly change the prices on the menus with tippex. We ordered the set menu and received our soup and spring rolls very quickly and at the same time and that was it. Our main course, even after asking for it still did not arrive. The service is the worst we've ever experienced and looking at the rest of the restaurant we were not alone as most tables either had ask for drinks or the rice/noodles arrived 10 minutes after the other dishes. I went here for dinner with my boyfriend. I'm vegetarian. He isn't. We ordered a portion of veg spring rolls and chicken. I asked the owner if it was fried separately, and he said yes. Finally, our rolls arrived. The waitress tell us if its meat or veg, nor did she answer us. She left the plate and walked away. Another brought the second batch and did the same. Then they returned and said both were veg... so obviously, veg and meat are not made separately with this confusion being possible, secondly the service was so poor and unfriendly.
