What a wonderful discovery in Hermanus – Hame - where fine dining can be enjoyed in a comfortable, relaxed and informal way.

As my daughter and I entered the restaurant on 13 September 2024, we were greeted by the warm, inviting and homely ambiance. The dim lighting, soft music, and crackling fire instantly set the tone for a delightful dining experience. We were quickly escorted to our table by our friendly waiter, Moses, who was attentive and knowledgeable. The flavours, of our well presented food, were exquisite, and it was evident that the chef had put immense care and skill into crafting each dish. Besides the tasty dishes we indulged in, the restaurant staff made sure we were comfortable and happy at all times.

Our dining experience at Hame was nothing short of delightful. The combination of delectable food, excellent service, and charming ambiance made for a memorable evening. The only small thing I would have preferred though, is the use of real candles at the tables and not the small lamps, but this did not, in any way, detract from our enjoyable evening. We left Hame feeling content and satisfied.

From the minute we entered the restaurant we know we ha dads the right decision in our choice for dinner. We were too early for service but were shown the delightful menu with a Scottish twist so we were dining here!! We had a couple of drinks in the ‘front room’ or lounge and we were absolutely blown away by Beck’s front of house service - she can work a room seamlessly and makes everyone feel special. We popped into Hame for Brekkie on our way out of Hermanus. The coffee was divine, strong and brewed to perfection. Our Brekkie was delicious, we had an eggs Benedict and a avo toast with poached eggs. All eggs were cooked perfectly to our instruction. The service was perfection, our waitress was so kind and informative and attentive. There was a lovely blond hostess who was so polite and welcoming.
