Cafe Mamas (Gwanghwamun) — Restaurant in Seoul

Not my cup of tea to be honest.

the menu lacks variety. They are advertised as a brunch place but they serve salads, paninis and soups only. Not really what we are used to when it comes to brunch the chicken salad was average. They add a lot of bread and it feels wasteful (picture 3 is how much bread we had in two salads). The chicken in the salad is very cold and we found the dish quite expensive compared to other places this is the only place in Korea where they didn’t serve us water by default. We asked for it, but we received 2 small cups (125ml I think). I find it a bit annoying to have to go back and ask for water multiple times in a country where the culture is to serve tap water by default at every table. Especially since Seoul has the 2nd best tap water in the world, after Tokyo.

Actually The Cafe Mamas is quite famous in residents in Seoul for its nice western-style brunch. i have tried the Gwanghwamun branch, and it was really good.

if you're considering have brunch here for the first time, just remember one thing: "THE BEEF & EGGPLANT PANINI IS THE GOD" don't think about another menu. beef&eggplant panini is the one, the supreme, and the almighty. inside the panini, there are sweetly seasoned, grilled beef with perfectly grilled eggplant and melted cheese. how can i not loves this lovely food?

The fruit juice was amazing, and my friend was really excited to be able to find good vegetarian options on the menu. We popped in mostly to wait for the Lotus Lantern festival parade to start, while charging our phones. I'd go back just for the fresh juice. Slightly odd thing though, and it's probably nothing, we both got a bit of a slight cough going inside. It might be due to the climate change from inside and out?
