It is not very common to find places that sell Sujebi and this place does it incredibly well. This is our first time trying the dish and we loved it. The sliced dough reminded us of a SE Asian dish called Mee Hoon Kueh. The dough is similar to noodle dough with a nice chewy texture, and goes really well with both the spicy broth and the perilla leaf broth.
The perilla leaf broth is a very interesting flavour and I have never found it anywhere else. It tastes really balanced, like a mix of matcha, mint and sesame.
Pancake is also really well made, crispy and fragrant. The sea snail salad is a good appetiser, with a very tangy and slightly spicy flavour.
The place is very popular and expect to queue for some time if you're here during peak hours. We came slightly after lunch on a weekend and had to queue for almost 45 minutes.
Toilet cubicles are very limited. There is free WiFi. This is definitely a must try if you're...
Read moreBLUF: A, just a great experience. An old saying goes, “Never judge a book by its cover.” The same is true with restaurants: “Never judge a restaurant by its location and entrance.” Insadong Sujebi is an excellent traditional Korean Specialty restaurant. Its speciality is Sujebi. Sujebi is a traditional Korean noodle soup where the noodles are thin, hand-torn pieces of dough added to a bubbling pot of broth. Buried down an out-of-the-way ally, Insadong Sujebi is a quant cozy Sujebi eatery. It looks a little run-down, but don’t let that fool you. The place is clean, and the staff is warm, friendly, and welcoming. However, be careful; they have their own recipe for classical Korean Kimchi, which I absolutely love. In fact, I got full eating just the kimchi and side dishes. If you are a Korean Foody, this is a must-stop on your culinary trip...

I am so happy to have found this place as we were missing home. This place looks like it has been publicized a lot as u can see various signatures on the wall and there are even logos of broadcasting by stations which had interviewed them before.
We ordered for 2 and it came in a large serving bowl which can then be distributed. Their kimchi was cold and came in a personal pot which feels very sanitary. The pancake was thin and crispy. I came around 6pm and by 7pm the whole place was filled out. It was so delicious and it was interesting to find out that Sujebi in Korea is the sister of mee hoon...
