As a frequent Hongdae visitor, I finally tried the intriguing French restaurant tucked away in a corner laneway. I was pleasantly surprised to learn it's a consistent Michelin guide participant, setting reasonably high expectations for my Monday evening visit.
The atmosphere was quiet, with only two other occupied tables. The waiter was fluent in English and was knowledgeable with the wine.
The food didn't disappoint. The champagne pate was a standout, delicious and well-prepared. The duck confit, while not exceptional, was quite good. Looking forward to trying their charcuterie on my next visit.
Pricing was pretty reasonable considering the quality of the French cuisine offered. My main criticism is instead of proper cloth napkins, i received a cheap, plastic-wrapped towelette you’d expect from a cafeteria.
Despite this, the overall experience was positive. The restaurant successfully blends traditional French cuisine with the eclectic charm of Hongdae. Will be back to explore more...
Read moreI tried the restaurant l'Impasse 81 and to be honest I was hoping a better service after reading the comments done by the Michelin Guide. When I arrive at the restaurant, it was empty and it was lunch time. I had to call three time the waiter to take my order and when he came he told me to order on the pad. I order one entree and two main dishes. Surprised! after finishing my entree and my first main dish, I had to wait 30 min to get my second main dish. The reason? they did not look carefully to my order. The entree was nice. The pate was fresh and tasty. The first main dish, the meat was good but the rice and vegetables were too spicy. The second main dish, I can say that the fries were good. I will go back to this restaurant as I am sure it may have been a bad day for them. I hope next time, the service will be better.
