If youโre gonna increase all the prices for the same items, at least improve them a little! They jacked up their prices - ie. their oysters (10 pieces) used to be 14,000 in January 2017, and now (October) itโs 19,000. Their corkage charge used to be basically 10,000 won per bottle if you brought 2 for a party of 2, just until at least August 2017. Now they charge 20,000 won per bottle. Used to get very great service from the waiter and waitress every time I went with a multiracial group and this week, I went with an older korean lady, and not even a single smile from them even though we ordered 3 mains and 2 appetizers with 40,000 for corkage. Every time we wanted to order and called the waiter, he just kept saying โhold onโ. Compared to all the other times Iโve been there, it was the slowest night even though it was a Friday night. I wouldโve understood their attitudes if they were busy at least. All the cheese they use for any sort of gratin dishes is the cheaper kind of korean โpizza cheeseโ and it just made all the dishes taste horrible. This place used to be my husbandโs and my fav cheaper French bistro, but we will never...
ย ย ย Read moreLa Planque is an excellent restaurant. I ate here last night with a group of four, and we were all very impressed with the food quality, service, and atmosphere. The chef, Anton, was very helpful and accommodating in helping us choose our menu items.
We had the charcuterie et fromage (meat and cheese platter) with the salad for appetizers, along with their house baguettes. All were very delicious. For entrees, we had the duck parmentier and beef bourgingon with the dauphinois gratin and cannelloni on the sides. All were extremely tasty! We finished with some creme brulee which was also fantastic. My favorite dish of the evening was definitely the duck.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone living or travelling in Seoul. The food is excellent quality and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere and the personality of the chef added to the positive experience. My friends and I will...
ย ย ย Read moreI really, really wanted to lovethis restaurant. Good atmosphere. Multilingual staff from France itself. Reasonable prices for a French restaurant. However, I was not so impressed by the food. Here's what I ordered:
Appetizer: Beef tartare - This was good. Not much more to say.
Main Course: Duck parmentier - The dish was baked to perfection with crispy breadcrumbs on top. The duck itself, I felt, was a bit bland and could do with more seasoning. Beef bourguignon - The beef was tough and chewy. I could only eat maybe half of this before I had to give up because my jaw was tiring.
Dessert: Creme brulee - This was also good.
Overall I walked away with some very mixed...
