Noonaholdak Hongdae - Oven Baked Chicken and Beer — Restaurant in Seoul

This place offers finger-licking good chicken that satisfied our crunch cravings, even though it's oven-baked. While some reviews mentioned that the crunchiness didn't meet their expectations, we found it to be sufficiently crispy. Additionally, the prices here are slightly cheaper compared to the neighbouring BBQ Chicken.

The restaurant has three levels and provides strong air conditioning, which is a relief during hot weather. It's an ideal spot for dads to kick back, relax, enjoy some fried chicken, and have a beer while waiting for their wives to shop. We spent over an hour there, and the staff didn't rush to clear our tables even after we finished our meal.

An interesting point to note is that this place seems to be endorsed by Gordon Ramsay. While we're unsure if he's paid for the endorsement, we can confidently say that the fried chicken here tastes really good. We'll definitely be returning...

Unfortunately, this spot really didn’t live up to expectations. I went at night when it was super busy, so I had to wait a bit for a table - which would’ve been fine if the food was worth it, but it really wasn’t.

I ordered the half chilli, half garlic chicken plate, and it was pretty disappointing. The chips came out cold and a bit stale, and the chicken itself wasn’t great, the cuts were uneven and the meat tasted quite bland without the sauce. Even with the sauce, the flavours just didn’t hit right, and it all felt a bit underwhelming. Also it was quite overpriced to other meals I was having.

Had dinner at Noonaholdak Hongdae in Mapo-gu — a must-visit for oven-baked chicken and beer in the heart of Hongdae. We had half Yangnyeom chicken, half soy sauce chicken, plus mozzarella cheese balls and fried dried filefish — all excellent! The chicken was nice and juicy, packed with flavor without the heaviness of fried chicken.

Gained global fame after Gordon Ramsay recommended it, praising its light texture and bold flavors without deep frying — and it truly delivers.
