Don’t waste your time, money, or stomach space on this blatant tourist trap. The pork is uninspiring, the portions modest to a fault, and the overall experience underwhelming at best. There are plenty of places serving far superior samgyeopsal without making you feel like you’re on the losing end of a bad deal.
No side dishes were provided — a curious choice in a country where complimentary banchan is customary. When we requested more lettuce (sangchu), we were informed it would cost 1,000 won. Quite the business model.
If you’ve ever wanted to pay extra for the privilege of being disappointed, look no further. Tourists might be fooled into thinking this is an authentic Korean experience, but any local would laugh, get annoyed, and walk out.
P.S. The extra stars for service is solely thanks to one part-time waitress who clearly found the whole thing ridiculous and secretly handed us a plate of sangchu behind the owner’s back.
P.S. #2 The owner was visibly monitoring our table, eyes locked on our lettuce like we were stealing state secrets.
P.S. #3 As we were about to pay, the owner stared at the cash in my wallet and, three separate times, said she preferred cash — likely to avoid declaring taxes....
Read moreHey guys, I’m Korean and just wanted to share my experience here. Honestly, it felt a bit unfair. This place gets a lot of foreign customers, and I think they sometimes don’t serve things properly because people might not notice.
For example, the side dishes you see in the pictures? We only got them after we asked. The food also looked quite different from the photos. I ordered fried rice, and honestly, the 1-person portion and 2-person portion looked almost the same. So I’d recommend just ordering 1 portion first and then adding more if you need.
Also, in the menu photo there was an egg, but mine came without it. When I asked, they just said, “Oh, I’ll bring it for you.” Like… why didn’t we get it in the first place? Feels like unless you complain, they don’t bother, especially if you’re a foreigner.
And one more thing — in Korea, no one charges money for kimchi, but here they charged extra for kimchi-like side dishes.
To be fair, the food tastes good. Just make sure to check what you’re served and speak up if something’s missing. Don’t let them take advantage of you. Hope you have an awesome...
Read moreFood was great, one of the staff was really welcoming and friendly but the other staff attending the cashier was absolutely rude and did not show a hint of customer service. Honestly, was enjoying my time until we had our refill of lettuce where the staff rudely mentioned that we had to add 1000 won for it and unwillingly topped it up. I just thought it would have been nice if she mentioned the price nicely as it was a small amount after all.
However, what irked me was that the other staff in fact did not charge us for the refill, and only this staff did which was suspicious and made me think it was because we were tourists. Also, no receipt was given and when I tried to take note of the prices, she immediately removed the bill.
Anyway, only look for the friendly ahjumma for service because the one with heavy make up clearly does not know what is customer service and absolutely ruined the day. (Would have given 5 stars to the...
