I'm bitterly disappointed. This is the first negative review I have ever left anywhere. I came here based on the positive reviews but left without finishing the food and really disappointed.

You smell the fresh bread and the atmosphere looks great. There was even a lady who translated for me to help me choose what to eat and recommended the half chicken with some bread. I also ordered two salads. The food came really quickly - great I thought!

Initially, I noticed that the chicken smelt a little funny but thought perhaps it's the spices. I then took a bite and realised it was really overcooked and leathery and got the suspicion that it had been reheated. I didn't want to jump to conclusions. I had another couple of bites and realised that one side was completely cold...yet still looked overcooked? How that be the case if it's been freshly cooked...I called the waiter over who said he would take it back and reheat it. When it was returned, I asked whether it was fresh and he said that it would have taken 14 minutes to cook fresh so they used chicken that had been prepared the day before. I said that this was ridiculous as I didn't ask for the food to come quickly and I literally had all day to eat Why would I come to a restaurant to have old food that had been prepared a day earlier? I had also noticed that the bread was stale and I suspect that it was also reheated but I don't know for certain. Either way it also didn't taste good.

I really felt cheated so I said I didn't want to eat any more of the food, especially as it didn't even taste nice. The lady argued and said that I had misunderstood and that the chicken had been freshly prepared but frankly, I think she was taking me for a fool! She also couldn't answer why one side would be overcooked yet cold. What's more, this establishment is definitely not woman run as it says on the description. It's clear that there's a guy who is running the place who sits at the front taking the payments.

I paid in full to make the point that I wasn't trying to avoid paying or wanting to reduce my bill. I just wanted a good service. I'm so bitterly disappointed, not just that they served old food, but that they tried to conceal it and didn't try to remedy it by offering to provide a different meal or an alternative. I can't trust what else they might do during the preparation stages as a result. Such a shame. Perhaps it's a one off or it was an individual error as all other reviews appear to be positive....

Nice restaurant. The plao is very delicious. some opinions of the people are as follow:

The restaurant serves Asian cuisine-Russian cuisine is excellent. It is good taste and good value! ! And vodka is better than other brands. You must try this good food.

This place is too expensive. It wasn't food, but it was. Dish and tableware are dirty and dirty as well as table and floor.

Pros: Convenient location Disadvantages: Food is plain, many items on the menu are not available, service does not exist, and the place is crowded. . 000 for 54, 4 could have been better spent in places in Korea. And let's start how clean this place is.

I was drunk. Have a good time and eat a lot of delicious food. When I get home, I lost the phone in the cafe at 8 o'clock. And Dayana told me. Forget my phone and a Uzbek person returns my phone. And she send me)))) congr. the best.

You must visit this restaurant. Located in the Russia-Mongolia-Uzbekistan region near the Dongdaemun Historical and Cultural Park. Depart from Gate 12 and walk two streets opposite the Cultural Center and Lotte Shops. You can find a restaurant among the small shops written in Cyrillic. A very polite reception on the second floor. Excellent food. Wonderful atmosphere. It looks like you are in that beautiful country. Silk path dreamlike decoration. Excellent kebab, very good typical bread. Good salad. Good Russian beer. Please modify the price. I paid 15 US dollars (53 won) per person. I will...

Met up with friends for dinner here and we ordered few dishes had family style and shared. Since it was our first time, it was bit overwhelming on deciding on which dishes to get, but went with the following items:

Handmade Noodles with Beef & Vegetables Rice with Beef Korean Style Carrot(carict) Russian-style sauerka Shish Kebab - minced beef and lamb samarkand bread

Lets go into details of each item

Handmade Noodles with Beef & Vegetables: this dish reminded me of Korean beef & radish soup, but with tomato taste served over noodles. Would recommend this dish, actually enjoyed it!

Rice with Beef: bit oily and the beef was very tough and chewy. Would skip this dish.

Korean Style Carrot(carict): definitely recommend this, I heard this is very popular side item. Went well with all the dishes.

Russian-style sauerka: reminded me of very sour kimchi. Might not meet your taste bud... took a while to get used to.

Shish Kebab - minced beef and lamb: definitely recommend, very delicious and flavorful!

samarkand bread: skip, very condensed, hard and felt dried out. We were told that's how it came, but yeah skip this and get a different bread options.

Overall, good experience, but can't justify more than 3 stars after initial visit, but I'm sure as I try other dishes, things...

Star Samarkand, located on Central Asia Street near Dongdaemun Metro Station, is a bustling restaurant popular with both Korean locals and tourists. This vibrant eatery brings a slice of Uzbekistan to Seoul, with its authentic cuisine and traditional Uzbek decor. The food at Star Samarkand is genuinely delicious, offering a true taste of Uzbekistan. The somsa, a savory pastry filled with spiced meat, is a must-try. The beef soup, known as Shorva, is rich and flavorful, providing a comforting and hearty meal. Each dish is prepared with care, ensuring that the flavors are authentic and reminiscent of Uzbek home cooking. The atmosphere at Star Samarkand enhances the dining experience, as the interior is adorned with traditional Uzbek designs, making you feel like you've stepped into a restaurant in Tashkent. The staff is polite and attentive, contributing to the overall pleasant dining experience. Having visited several times, I highly recommend trying the handmade apricot juice. It’s refreshing and perfectly complements the robust flavors of the food. Whether you are looking to explore Central Asian cuisine or are a fan of Uzbek dishes, Star Samarkand is a delightful destination that promises a memorable culinary journey.

Last year I went here to try central asian food for the first time and I was so amazed that I keep coming back. This restaurant has some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life! The bread is really fresh and all of the food tasted homemade. I have had several of the lamb dishes, all of the soups, bread, and a few salads. Everytime I've had lamb here it melts of the bone. For soups - all are delicious and go great with the circular fluffy bread. For salad, the carrot one is soooo good! I don't know how they do it, but the carrots are seasoned really well.

The food was okay and nice. The waiting time for the food is quite reasonable. We ordered pilaf, bread with soup and also noodle. Can't remember the exact name of the food.Menu available was in Korean or Uzbek so we only based on the photos, and using translation from phone. We came for dinner around 7pm and the restaurant was quite full. They also have a variety of pastries which smells really good when you walk around the area. However, we're too full at that time and didn't get the chance to taste them.
