Dr. Jongcheol Shin, aka God of Buffet, presents international cuisine based on his long experiences with innovative culinary art. There are many dishes which I like such as Peking Duck and Red Braised Pork Belly from Chinese station, Sashimi, steamed Snow Crab, Octopus and Conch from Seafood station, Braised Short Ribs and Beef Tartare from Korean station. Do not miss to try the famous LA Ribs with a thickness of 1 cm.. It is indeed full of delicacies with good value for the money! Tables are spacious, clean and staffs are prompt, attentive with refilling the food promptly. I normally have breakfast and dinner buffet more than 200 times a year, but this one is one of the best! Valet parking is available for comfortable visit.
Part II Fine Dining It is a revolution by the God (Shin) of Buffet, the F&B director in Ambassador Seoul – a Pullman Hotel. Now he challenges his upscaled fine dining for his hotel members. For the last 34 years, he was with JW Marriott Seoul and Hotel Shilla, and now is the Pride of the Ambassador Hotel Group, as Cluster Executive Chef. From his experiences, there are many records, such as developing more than 1200 dishes and establishing my favorite buffet restaurant, Flavors at JW Marriott Seoul. His staffs call him Mr. Again (다시해) because he seeks Perfectionism. From his creative cuisine, I can feel his confidence. From his face, I can feel Enthusiasm and Devotion.
His challenging journey of flavors starts with: Trio Amuse-Bouche (트리오 아뮤즈 부쉬) with Crab Meat Cone, Truffle Mushroom Foie Grass and his signature, Egg Custard Mousse. Especially the cone and egg cuisines are divine! Sour-vide Lobster & Sea Urchin Tofu, Caviar (수비드 랍스터와 성게두부, 캐비어): Sea Urchin Tofu presents very different palate, very tasty! Luxurious ingredients are also wonderful! Signature Bread (시그니처빵): Don’t know why it is a signature bread without trying it. Impressive! In Top Tongyeong Oyster Chowder Soup (통영 삼배채굴 차우더 수프): It is good with deep flavor from the soup, even though the Oyster might be a little bit fishy for me, a real Oyster lover. Fillet of Mero with Assorted Roe Vin Blanc Sauce (메로찜) Shine Muscat Sherbet (샤인머스캣 셔벗): It is very wise idea to add Shine Muscat in between because it is very helpful against fishy smell or greasiness. Lamb Chop with Herbs Sauce (허브소스 양갈비) Akaushhi Wagyu Short Rib (와규 아까우시 진갈비살 구이): It is tender and juicy. Very delectable. It is the dish which can tempt even the jaded palate of the most meat-lover. Strawberry, Valrhona Chocolate Mousse Cake (딸기, 초콜릿무스) with Coffee.
I really enjoy this upscaled...
Read moreDined at the King’s buffet within the Ambassador Pullman Soeul. The buffet was great with many quality offerings. Really enjoyed the Peking duck, abalone, steak and lamb. The lobster tails were a bit dry, however still quite enjoyable. The spider crab legs were very meaty and succulent. There were no oysters unfortunately, however there was also sashimi, sushi, scallops and sea snails. The tempura prawns and vegetables were also great with perfect texture. The dessert options were very plentiful and were all delicious. There must have been something about the strawberries as a couple of diners went back and forth with large dinner plates and kept piling on the strawberries (I was actually quite embarrassed to watch them do this as they created queues of people behind them without any care in the world). They would literally stand there and select the strawberries one by one until their plate was piled like a mountain. (I guess they wanted their value for money and didnt care if other diners had any or not). One woman in particular went there four times (during the time that we were there) to pile on her plate (without any shame). As soon as the staff restocked the strawberries she ran to the section like an Olympic athlete ….. I guess they were really delicious and rare strawberries worth embarrassing oneself for…. I’ve seen youtube clips of people like this so found it quite amusing to witness this first hand. There was also a man sitting behind us doing the same, however he wasnt as bad as that woman (very close second though). There are no Accor dining benefits here and therefore the buffet is roughly 150,000 krw pp. Definitely worth going to if you love quality well prepared food…… and ridiculous amounts of...

Service is amazing, plates are cleared fast, the place is clean. Overall, it was a great selection for breakfast. I'd recommend the blueberry pastry and chocolate croissant. The hash brown is perfectly crispy. There's fresh juices. The fruits are all fresh and look perfect. It was great to have since fruit is so expensive in Korea. There's a nice Western food selection as well.
