The Ranch is a Korean brewery from 대전 that have been producing an extensive selection of beer ranging from IPA's, stouts, rye pale ales, NEIPA and more and I'm always happy when I see their beer available.
The location of this place is really cool with loads of places to eat and drink. The door to this place is like a vending machine and the decor inside is retro and very acoustically pleasing. The menu and ordering is on a tablet which is really cool and you can choose whichever beer you would like and some food to go along with it with their Detroit style pizza the popular choice amongst diners.
I ordered a New England Pale Ale (NEPA) which was very juicy and floral with some amazing fruity notes and a style of beer that I very much enjoy. It isn't as strong as an IPA but still a nice percentage of alcohol with amazing taste and smell.
We ordered the pepperoni pizza which is a Detroit style pizza which is a rectangular pizza with a thick crust with cheese on the bottom them topped with pepperoni and the tomato sauce on top. This was my first time trying this style of pizza and I really enjoyed the crispness of the outside and the soft fluffy interior of the pizza. The nice melted cheese and the pepperoni are always a winner for me and this was good pepperoni used and then the nice tangy taste of the tomato made this a winning combination with the beer.
I really enjoyed this place and will be sure to visit again for some great...
Read moreThis is a cute taproom with a great entrance behind a vending machine that's on an alley that comes from Euljiro 3-ga (closest to the far exit from the station - #10 according to the local maps app). The vibe inside is very cool and the people who work there are very nice and speak some English.
The beers are excellent and priced very nicely. Pints are 5.0 or 6.0 thousand won. We had the pale ale, pecan stout, citra IPA and brut IPA. Tastes we're excellent with a nice balance and hoppiness where appropriate.
We had some plain fries with our beers and they went together swimmingly.
Ordering is done via on-table tablets. If you're not a Korean reader, scroll the left category selector and you'll see English headings.
The beers and food come out quickly in clean glasses and are well poured. The food comes out in an appropriate amount of...
Read moreEdit: I appreciate the response and have adjusted my review accordingly. Looking at the pictures of pizzas that show up prominently you maybe mistaken to think this place a brewpub / pizza place with a craft beer selection, but it’s in reality a rather small bar, so I can understand the policy. Ultimately it was an unpleasant experience and for what it’s worth I don’t think I’ll every be back.
Well I don't have an opinion of the Ranch Brewing and its food or beer as we were quickly directed out the door by the staff who let us know that they were a "no kid zone". All places are free to choose their clientele, but all the craft beer and brewpubs I have been to in Seoul have been child friendly. I figure a place that cares about its pizzas and promotes its foods would be fine for children to eat at, I stand corrected. Not hip enough for...
