We had quite high expectations as we watched a few videos about the Viking's Wharf and read a lot about it and because of the steep price compared to other buffets.
That being said, the Viking's Wharf could definetely NOT deliver.
Pretty much nothing was really fresh cooked or hot. Most meals lacked some good seasoning (even though they could cook the lobster shells for some delicious lobster bisque) or were lukewarm.
As for foreigners, hardly any of the staff speaks english or tries to.
It seems this buffet is only expensive because of the lobsters, which were mediocre. Pretty much everything we had at the buffet, we could find at other restaurants for a fraction of the price (besides the lobster and fresh sushi).
The only really worthy things were the sushi and the gelato / cake. For the sushi they have a sushi chef there, the gelato and cake are from a bakery in Seoul.
In our opinion it was not...
Read moreDon't believe the hype, this place is definetly NOT worth the price of admission They display Canadian flags everywhere, but if you have ever had lobster in Canada this is a far different experience. Lobsters here were overcooked, tough, and served cold or luke warm at best. There were also no crab options available as advertised. All cooked food is held under heat lamps until they are tough and inedible. Even the kalbi was like shoe leather, worst I've had in Korea. The only food I would recommend is the sushi and any preparation of shrimp. Sushi was fresh and delicious and I assume the shrimp is sourced locally as it was tasty fried, steamed, or raw. Don't believe Mikey Chen's review on YouTube, skip this place, save your money and eat at any street vendor or family restaurant in Seoul. I have rarely had a bad meal here aside from this...
Read morePretty wide range selection of seafood based dishes. Their shtick is of course the heavy focus on lobster in all kinds of forms. Boiled, grilled, in steamed egg, bisque, peppered to name a few. Unfortunately, the quality is sub par considering its price point. Most of the fresh seafood is missing their natural sweetness and umami. The boiled lobsters are very overcooked, resulting in dry rubbery meat.
Staff is fast, but they grab used plates from under your nose while you're still eating. Might need some training.
On a weekend during lunch, it's not too busy, so if you're looking for a relaxed buffet experience, that might be the...
