Newly opened on 15 June, this place serves udon. As a foreign tourist who cannot speak Korean, the server made every effort to use his phone to translate and communicate with me.
Four dishes were recommended, with no expectations that every present member, two adults and three children, asked to have their own dish.
The clam udon was tasty and the soup was filled with the taste of clams, with a tinge of pepper.
The eggplant on rice was done just nice, with the eggplant being cooked just right, it being neither too hard nor too soggy.
The mandu with cheese came with tobiko on top, which made it a bit too salty.
And the flat udon was served to be eaten either with the traditional soy base or Japanese mayonnaise.
We proceeded to add on another dish of creamy udon, which was served with a generous serving of shredded seaweed and tobiko as well as a giant ebi fry.
The servers were very attentive and made the whole experience very enjoyable. We felt welcomed and appreciated their attention to details.
We will definitely be back again before...
Read moreThis place is good. The udon chicken I got was very savory and creamy. Nothing I had before in terms of taste. I can't say the same about the gyoza. The gyoza just tasted average.
Food: 니와토리 우동 - Niwatori Udon was very flavorful. The broth is worth the try. The chicken dumpling meatball is however just okay.
바지락 우동 - Clam udon was good. Not strong like the niwatori Udon. If you love seafood, you will like this.
널적우동 - Himokawa udon noodle is very popular amongst the locals. You dip the rice noodle sheets into savory sesame sauce.
명란치즈교자 - Cheese Gyoza was average. The cod doesn't taste fishy. Doesn't come any sauce to dip.
Service: Everything is done by machine. The servers will occasionally comes by, but minimal interaction.
Seating: Plenty of seats. When we were here, it was popular. They even had...
Read moreI absolutely loved the food here. Definitely recommend if you’re on the lookout for Japanese food in Hongdae. The cold udon and the gyoza were divine! So many different dishes to try. The downside is that it’s a popular place, so there’s always a wait during normal lunch hours, and depending on where you sit you can see the long queue of people waiting (some inside, some outside) The service is good but not necessarily amazing - it’s not a negative though, simply the style of restaurant. You order and pay from a screen on your table. Be aware that it does not accept international cards. If you have cash or an international card, speak to the waiter. They can take payment over the counter. They were very helpful in...
