AEl Gran Sol Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Adeje

Based on reviews, we thought this would be a great place to come. We’ve visited twice, got drinks first visit. It was like we were asking for too much to get a drink after being sat 15 mins with no service. Second time we visited for food - service was absolutely dreadful. We had an unpleasant, cocky waiter that acted as if everything was too much to ask for - just all over the place service. (Just the basic of clearing starters before mains) they left all the starter plates on the table whilst bringing out the mains and then rudely told my guest to wait for a drink as they didn’t have time when he was standing there and chatting. Food was just weird. I ordered a steak and chips and it came with pickled veg, bright green mash and some onion. (Didn’t state this on the menu) there was more random rubbish than steak, wasn’t the happiest. Come to pay the bill, the waiters were constantly laughing and talking rubbish in their own language (it was pretty obvious, weren’t discrete whatsoever) - was made to feel rather uncomfortable and very dissatisfied. Wouldn’t wish this service upon anyone. We spent nearly £1k as there was a big group of us, they ruined the party to be honest. Was on the verge of walking out. We had a very disappointing meal at Gran Sol Lounge. We specified that we wanted vegetarian food when we sat down. Firstly, we tried to order an English breakfast without the meat and we were told this was not possible, so I ordered a Greek salad instead. I was then served a CHICKEN ceasar salad containing meat. We pointed this out to the waitress and we were then brought back the same salad back with the chicken taken off, which was still not what we ordered. On the third attempt we were brought the Greek salad, by which time my partner had finished their food. The Greek salad arrived with no dressing and was very bland.

I disputed the bill explaining that it was unacceptable to be served meat as a vegetarian (and having stated this very obviously when we sat down) and having to wait for three attempts at the correct food. I was confronted by the very rude ‘manager’ who told me that we would still have to pay for the meal, and if we didn’t pay it would come out of the waitress’ pocket (the waitress was very helpful and apologetic at the situation) . Tried this place on our 1st night, and I thought it looked great from the outside, which is very instgrammable, but that's where the positives end. The service was shocking from the start, with no personality from any staff, not even a smile. The food took an age to come and was edible but not great. We put it down to our tiredness from travelling so tried it again last night just for drinks as the lounge area looks comfy but 15 minutes just to order drinks, which in fairness came quickly, but again no interaction from staff, when ordering the waiter literally said nothing, tapped it in on his device and walked away. When we asked for the bill 10 minutes later, he practically flung the card reader at us.
