Difficult to judge this place as I’m not sure what it’s trying to be. We tried it twice on our recent holiday. Service was shambolic on our first visit until a guy turned up (beard, a little bit older than the staff) and handed out what looked like a massive reprimand. That seemed to do the trick and the service level improved significantly. It doesn’t feel like there is a clear front of house to ensure smooth running of the place. Second visit the service was much better and the food was good, we had really good burgers and fries. I’ve given this a 3 because as per my first sentence, what is this place trying to be? It’s on Fañabe beach which is not a club / dance place. Beds are fantastic, staff once motivated are great but please turn the music down, not being able to speak to my partner properly from 11.00 due to the banging music is just not this area. On both occasions we visited I would guess it was less than 30% occupancy, that can’t be the owners business model? At the very least keep the music at a low level until the kitchen closes. Music on both occasions kept on a much lower volume would encourage more of a beach vibe and encourage more customers. Read moreWe waited over 20 minutes till we eventually had to get up for the 3rd time and raise our voices asking for service. Our table was dirty from the previous customer even though we were told to sit there by the bartender. All the tables around us had the same problem. Dirty tables, dishes everywhere, the bar full of dirty glasses and plates. Absolutely no organisation and zero communication to diners or eachother. Finally when we ordered drinks, they came wrong. Took 20 mins to get them replaced. We ordered food but only got half the order. After 10 minutes we asked will the rest arrive, told yes. 15 mins later it came out stone cold and congealed. No one cared we were all unhappy. When we tried to pay every member of staff just ignoring us. Not only us, everyone around us was just as frustrated. Everyone had to get up and insist on paying, to have to wait another 10 mins to pay. Either the staff are so badly treated they have given up entirely or they are like this all the time. We couldn’t tell. There was about 12 staff so not understaffed at all. No urgency from start to finish.
Unfortunately the drinks were as terrible as the service. We really wanted to like the place as it’s stunning and location is idyllic. It left us all in such a bad mood but not one staff member cared even slightly. I didn’t see one...
Read moreSo this place sells beds for about 30 euros, and then asks a lot of money extra per person that you have as a "voucher" for the restaurant. So for 2 persons you pay about 120 euros and get 90 euros of a voucher for example.
That already sounds kinda suspicious already, but doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing. However, everything is twice or thrice (!) the amount you'd pay in an above average restaurant. Cocktails are like 11 euros for example, and a simple dish like a salad around 20 euros. The dishes are really bad, it tastes, smells and feels like it's mass produced and just bought in the store and you got it out of the refrigerator in the cellar (it is, btw). The mussels are from cans for example. And the quesedillas are made with ham. Ham! It even says chicken on the menu, haha. So bad.
Service is really bad, feels like no one actually listens to a word you're saying.
All in all, feels like a front for laundering money. Just a tourist trap, don't fall for it and all the fake reviews there are. Please like this review so it doesn't get buried in the fake reviews.
Note that they didn't charge us on the voucher because of the bad service at the end. But that doesn't matter, as you still have lots of money in the voucher and I couldnt bear to order any more after...
