We've been coming to Tenerife for quite a few years and over that time have found a few restaurants which have become our go to places to eat. We've walked past the Loch Ness innumerable times and said we must give it a try, based on the old acid test of, if there are people in there it must be OK. And there usually are quite a few in there eating. So today we finally gave it a try. And we were not disappointed. The place is spotlessly clean, always a good start. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The choice on the menu is huge, but we went for the 9.95€ set meal, the same price I pay for a bottle of Famous Grouse at the duty free shop up the road. And talking of Scotch I asked for a whisky and lemonade (Sprite), my usual tipple. So along came this very nice guy with a large glass with some ice which he proceeded to fill with J&B until I told him to stop and leave a bit of room for the lemonade. His reactions weren't exactly lightening quick, but he did stop just in time, and left some room for the lemonade but also the bottle of scotch on the table, presumably to top up if I felt it necessary. Which I did, but not to excess. On to the food, which was excellent. I had a tuna salad starter, nicely presented, with all the salad very fresh. My wife had garlic bread, also very good. Main courses of scampi and lasagne both very tasty and up to standard. I had apple pie and ice cream and my wife had the chocolate dessert (actually we shared them) but both were excellent. Hopefully we will be coming to Adeje for many more years and won't be walking past the Loch Ness without going in a few more times. ...
Read moreUnfortunately the food was terrible. In all fairness a set meal for 13 euros including steak may have been a red flag. However we gave it a go due to it having good reviews. The service was good, we were served quickly, the drinks were good, but the food was a huge let down. The steak was tough, tasted horrible. One of us got it without the sauce on top and asked for it medium, the steak came well done, tough and dry and considering this it was pale and looked like it had been cooked with a lightbulb on the outside. We’re pretty sure we saw them putting our food in the microwave just before bringing it out. The others were ordered medium rare with sauce, Same issue the texture was off, the taste was off and the sauce was disgusting. When we highlighted this to the lady that works there we were told ‘well everyone else likes the steak’ and ‘it’s because you got medium rare’. We spoke to the man who seemed to be the manager, he apologised and spoke to the chef, brought us a free shot and compensated for the meal, which was very kind of him. Overall the service was fast, the staff were mostly polite and very apologetic after the issues. However I do believe that the whole reason for the good reviews is because of the way they serve alcohol by placing the bottle on the table & people free pouring drinks, probably too drunk to realise the food is diabolical. I appreciate the staffs efforts to compensate and the fact they were apologetic, however I am very confused by the high reviews on this place for anything aside from...
Read moreWe visit Adeje up to 3 times a year and previously had always had the best of welcome and service from the one of the male workers, who has worked there for about 17 years, giving sweets to the children etc, just a nice little gesture. However we visited just over a week ago and popped to the Loch Ness which we go to every day when on hols. It was 36 degrees and had not long arrived following travelling all day from Wales. We took a seat in the Loch Ness and the chinese lady with glasses and hair in a ponytail asked what we would like. We ordered 2 lagers stating we did not want to order food, just a drink for now, to which she proceeded to inform us we could not sit in the seats at the front. I asked what she meant and I asked her does thay mean we cannot have a drink if we dont have food and does that mean we have to leave, to which she responded yes cannot have a drink and to leave!! Needless to say we spent our money elsewhere for the rest of our holiday and did not and will not return to Loch Ness ever again. Such a shame as the male worker we always spoke to there was soo nice to everyone. The chinese lady with glasses seriously needs to work on her customer services skills as being so rude to visitors after a long day travelling, and in general, is such a big No.No. If she continues to treat customers on this manner will only mean that customers will avoid the Loch Ness altogether and spend their money...
