La Caponata — Restaurant in Adeje

My husband and I always make reservations when we come on holiday to Tenerife to dine at this quaint and wonderful little Sicilian restaurant.

A great menu with a specials board that is regularly updated. Each dish bursting with authentic flavours and is home made by the chef who is from Sicily.

Recommend the cheese ravioli with pistachio sauce....I have to say, it was the best pasta I have ever eaten—perfectly cooked and incredibly flavourful.

Desserts are all quite unique and tasteful rather than the run of the mill items you usually see on dessert menus up and down the resort. It was refreshing to see a thought out menu for a change, with the added bonus of everything being fresh and homemade.

The service was top-notch, with attentive staff who made us feel welcomed and valued. Their recommendations were spot-on and they go above and beyond to make your experience there a good one .

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful meal in Tenerife, well worth a taxi ride if you're not staying in Adeje. It is best to contact them to reserve a table although they do accept walk in's.

We ate here on the last night of our girls trip and it was our favourite meal by far. The staff were friendly and attentive. They took the time to talk us through all the specials in detail (two of us ended up ordering from the specials menu). The restaurant itself was near the beach front in a lively location. The decor was quaint and the plates/food presentation was neat yet eclectic which gave it a more authentic feel. Not to mention that everything tasted amazing!

5 out of the 6 of us are vegetarian so Italian is always a good call for non meat options and there was plenty to choose from at La Caponata. The menu was not too large so did not feel overwhelming yet there was still plenty of choice.

I didn't feel welcomed,the lady serving was efficient,yet we were given the very minimal of the warm and wonderful service that the reviews on here mentions. She took a great deal of time explaining to a table what was for dessert,detailed about the items and what they were.we asked for the dessert menu, she returned with a chalk board,placed it on the table,said " there is the dessert "and walked away.( They were written in Italian ) so no idea what they were. By this time I felt uncomfortable. We got up, I went to pay,and the same person took my payment very abruptly . The food could be the best around ,but if the service is Cold 🥶 then your not going back . Perhaps that's why the place only had 4 tables occupied .
