What can I say....."what a venue"! Absolutely stunning. From the moment you walk in, you're met by the very attentive staff, who make you feel extremely welcome. When you are seated, you begin to look around the vast outside patio area, and cannot help but be very impressed by the details that have gone into the design and feel of this place. The soft lighting , the chunky wooden tables, the cushioned seats, they even have swinging basket seats....! The impressive decor carries on, into the inside area of the bar. Again,...vast! A lot of thought has gone into the making, of this relatively new venue. It only opened its doors last October! But it already attracts many returning customers, including myself. There are numerous tv's, strategically placed all around the bar, where you can watch all the major sporting events, and piped music throughout. Do not get confused,...this is not a typical Tenerife sports bar, selling a euro a pint of disgusting beer, or cheap vodka/gin etc!! If you want that, you'll find many of those in Las Americas!! If you, like me, want a touch of class, while on holiday, head to Solis!! The drinks served here, are all branded, and if you like Gin, and who doesn't.....! You'll be spoiled for choice!!! They've got "everything"!!! As they do, for all your, alcoholic needs! They've even got their own wine cellar! WTH!!!!😊 If you want it,..They've got it. Try the food!! The menu is simple to read, and has been well thought out, and everything is freshly made for you.😋 And because I'm nosy...I even had a look around the kitchen!😊. Again, very impressed. Mahoosive! Clinically clean, and would not be out if place, if attached to any 5☆ hotel. Now, the stars of the show, are Paul, and his lovely wife Fiona. What they don't know about the hospitality industry, isn't worth knowing. And it shows. They are always hands on, and are so knowledgeable, and able to help, or advise you, on any questions regarding your culinary needs. It amazes me, how Paul can be speaking to someone in perfect English one minute, and then be talking to one of the staff in perfect Spanish the next!!! 🤭 I must mention Paul and Fiona's beautiful daughter Izzy! She also works alongside her parents. Such a friendly, polite, very helpful young lady. A credit to her mother and father. And I'm led to believe, there are 2 more daughters, who will be joining the family dynasty, after they finish their education! A true family business. Now, I do consider myself, somewhat of an expert on bars/restaurants here in Tenerife, as I lived here for few years back in the mid 90's. Some of you regulars, may recall seeing my show!! I was one of the 'original' Blues Brothers!🤗😊😉 Anyhoo, I digress...I have been coming back here, over the years, and I've seen bars come and go! 'Solis' is something the island sadly needs more of! Prime branded drinks, fresh food, cleanliness, great atmosphere, exceptional service, and a wonderful family running the place. You know the saying,.... "You get what you pay for...!" Give 'Solis' a visit ...tell Paul,.... Elwood Blues sent you.....😊 5☆☆☆☆☆ all the way.🥰 Costa Adeji. (Alongside...
Read moreIt’s always great to see a gluten-free place. The menu was varied, and the presentation of the food was good. However, the quality was poor. Ultimately, it feels like they’ve cut corners—perhaps due to rising costs—and are relying on the novelty of everything being gluten-free.
I visited on two separate occasions. On the first visit, I ordered the Caesar salad, but the chicken was tougher than what you’d find in a supermarket meal deal. I asked the waiter about it, and he mentioned it was prepped in the morning. That’s understandable, but there are ways to keep chicken tender. It tasted as if they had simply thrown a batch of chicken breasts in the oven, uncovered, and overcooked them. Very disappointing. A friend ordered the same salad the next day, and it was just as poor—though it did look lovely.
The next item I had was the breadcrumb-coated Korean chicken bites, which is always a fun thing to see on a gluten-free menu. Unfortunately, they tasted as if the chicken had been pre-cooked before breading, making it incredibly tough. It seemed either refried or oddly pre-cooked—again, disappointing.
I strongly suggest that the staff taste-test the food in the afternoon or evening, as there is great potential and it’s such as shame to see it fail on more...
Read moreWow all I can say this is the best restaurant for coeliac (gluten-free) I have ever been to in the world everything I mean everything on the menu is GF. The chef is a coeliac too so you can be 100% sure you will not be glutened at this place only gluten on site is the beer in the taps. The Food is absolutely incredible and anyone wouldn't know it was GF, the service was great the drink waitress even gave me some Spanish lessons, the food order was taken by the Chefs partner also believe she is the co owner too very attentive and friendly I cannot recommend this place highly enough. My fave dish had to be the Chicken Croquettas honestly out of this world, we had about 10 dishes and 2 deserts a large Estrella Galicia beer and a rioja Blanco bottle with tip all for 140 euros. The toblerone cake dessert was awesome. Thank you Solis for some great food and...
