Visited there a year ago with my parents and experienced my first blatantly racist encounter. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the waitress was mean and rude for no reason. We were shocked by her attitude, and my dad eventually asked her what we had done to deserve such treatment. She replied with a hostile face, “why I should be friendly towards you?”We didn’t say anything. In the end while bringing the bill, she explained that she used to work for a Chinese family who treated her poorly. Because of this experience, she had resentment to Chinese people since then.

This is a textbook example of racism: hostility towards someone based on their race or ethnicity, rather than judging them as individuals. She projected her negative experience with one Chinese family onto us, completely unrelated individuals, simply because we are Chinese. This unfair generalization is what typical racism means.

While we empathized with her bad experience and noticed her becoming friendlier afterward, I felt it was still important to point out the nature of her behaviors, hence taking the time to write this review although it happened more than one year ago. I hope she can truly learn from this, instead of becoming like those who had mistreated her— people who do not know how to show respect for others.

Very nice and warm atmosphere, value for quality is more than ok.

Unfortunately during our experience, despite calling, asking and booking for happy hour service instead of dinner menu, we have been treated very coldly and detached by the receptionist the moment she found out we were not going to have dinner. All the worst for her, because the place was empty and with drink and tapas we could have spent more than average dinner spending, her attitude just made us go away. And it was even more evident when some operator removed tableware and menus from the table. Such a pity, because the place, the variety of food, the quality of what we were able to try and the service from the table waiters were all very nice, just we didn't feel like staying longer on this weird and incomprehensible attitude from the room...
